Safaricom half year profit falls to $218 million on Ethiopia currency hit
Safaricom's half year profit to September 2024 has fallen by 17.7 percent to $ 218 million from $341 million due to the depreciation of the Ethiopian currency, the birr.

The telco took a $175 million hit after the birr depreciated by 106.3 percent over last year, forcing Safaricom to revalue its liabilities including foreign currency borrowings and lease agreements. (Business Daily)

የኢንሹራንስ ኢንዱስትሪውን ከተቀላቀለ ሶስት አስርተ አመታትን ያስቆጠረው ሕብረት ኢንሹራንስ በተጠናቀቀው ሂሳብ ዓመት ከግብር በኃላ 525 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ የተጣራ ትርፍ ማግኘቱን በሪፖርቱ ገልጿል።

ኩባንያው ባለፈው ዓመት ካገኘዉ የተጣራ ትርፍ ጋር ሲነፃፀር የ 60 በመቶ ጭማሪ ማሳየቱን የገለፀ ሲሆን የተከፈለ ካፒታሉ ደግሞ ከ 1 ቢሊዮን 68 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ መሆን ችሏል ብሏል።

የሕብረት ኢንሹራንስ የዳይሬክተሮች ቦርድ ሊቀመንበር የሆኑት አቶ ወንደሰን ተሾመ የኩባንያውን ዓመታዊ ሪፖርት ባቀረቡበት ወቅት ላይ እንደተናገሩት በተጠናቀቀው በጀት አጠቃላይ አረቦን ገቢ ወደ ብር 2 ቢሊዮን ገደማ መድረሱን አስታዉቀዋል ።

በዚህም በአመቱ ከተገኘዉ የአርቦን ገቢ 1 ቢሊዮን 962 ሚሊዮን ዉስጥ ከ 1 ነጥብ 72 ቢሊዮን ብር ያህሉ ህይወት ነክ ካልሆነ ኢንሹራንስ ሲሆን ቀሪዉ ደግሞ ከህይወት ኢንሹራንስ የተገኘ መሆኑ ተነግሯል።

የ 30ኛ ዓመት የባለአክስዮኖች ዓመታዊ ጠቅላላ ጉባኤውን በዛሬው ዕለት ያደረገዉ ኩባንያው የህይወት ነክ ባልሆነ እና ህይወት ነክ የመድን ዘርፎች ለካሳ የከፈለዉ ዉጪ ከ 693 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ ሆኖ መመዝገብን ገልጿል።

ባንኩ ስራ በጀመረበት የመጀመሪያ አመት ማለትም 2015 የስራ አፈፃፀሙ 267.7 ሚሊዮን ብር ኪሳራ ያስመዘገበ ቢሆንም በተያዘው በጀት ዓመት ግን ወደ ትርፍ መሸጋገር መቻሉን ነዉ በሪፖርቱ ያስታወቀው ።

በሁለት ዓመቱ የስራ ቆይታዉ ትርፍ ማስመዝገብ የቻለዉ አሃዱ ባንክ አጠቃላይ ሃብቱ 6.4 ቢሊዮን ብር መድረሱን እና 1.4 ቢሊዮን ብር ደግሞ የተፈረመ ካፒታል መሆኑን ጠቅሷል።

እኤአ በ 2021 የተቋቋመው ባንኩ አጠቃላይ ተቀማጭ ሂሳብ 4.66 ቢሊዮን ብር መድረሱን ገልጿል። በተጠቀሰው የስራ ዘመን 80 ሚሊዮን የአሜሪካ ዶላር የሚሆን የዉጭ ምንዛሪ መሰብሰብ መቻሉን ነዉ ያስታወቀው ።

ይህ ምዕራፍ የሀገር ውስጥ የቴክኖሎጂ ተሰጥኦ ባለቤቶች መተግበሪያዎቻቸውን በዓለም ላይ ካሉት ትላልቅ ዲጂታል መድረኮች ላይ እንዲያትሙ አዲስ እድሎችን እንደሚከፍትም ገልፀዋል።

መንግስት የዲጂታል ኢኮኖሚውን ለመገንባት በርካታ ተነሳሽነቶችን በመተግበር እየሰራ መሆኑን ገልጸው ይህ አዲስ ጅማሮ የተከናወኑ ተግባራት ውጤት ነው ብለዋል።

የዘርፉ ባለሙያዎች ይህንን እድል ተጠቅመው ችግር ፈቺ መተግበርያዎችን በማልማት በዲጂታል ኢኮኖሚ ግንባታ ሂደት የድርሻቸውን እንደሚወጡ ጥሪ አቅርበዋል።

በሚኒስቴሩ አማካሪ የሆኑት አቶ ሰለሞን ሙሉጌታ ለኢትዮጵያውያን ስታርታፖች ምቹ ሥነ-ምህዳርን ለማዳበር ከሚተገበሩ ሰራዎች መካከል በአለም አቀፍ የዲጂታል መድረኮች እንዲሳተፉ የሚያስችሉ አለማቀፋዊ ግንኙነቶችን ማጠናከር ወሳኝ በመሆኑ እድሉን ለማመቻቸት የተለያዩ ስራዎች ሲከናወኑ መቆየታቸውን ተናግረዋል።
