I(M28) am tired of constantly hearing people say that finding a partner after 30 will be difficult.
I(M28) am feeling immense pressure from my family to tie the knot and start a family soon. However, rushing into marriage isn't something I'm keen on. Firstly, I have no interest in an arranged marriage, and secondly, I've been flying solo for quite some time. While loneliness can be challenging, I refuse to let it be my sole reason for marriage. I take marriage seriously, and I'll only consider it if I find someone with whom I truly click and can envision a lifelong partnership. It's frustrating how our culture often trivializes marriage, turning it into a mere race to fulfill societal expectations. I'm tired of hearing the notion that finding a suitable partner becomes increasingly difficult after turning 30. Moreover, I haven't yet found my footing in my career. I believe marriage should come after I've established myself professionally. The constant pressure and comments about marriage have become exhausting to handle. I am frustrated to the level where I am constantly questioning myself and my perspective.

3 crore at Mercedes-Benz: Isn't It Too Good to Be True?
I recently came across a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwD5AkqRazQ) where a Malayali software engineer claimed he was offered a 3 crore ($360k) package at Mercedes Benz. As someone familiar with industry standards, this seems highly unlikely for several reasons.
Unusually High Package: Chance of a 3 crore package for a software engineer with 4-5 years of experience is exceptionally low, even in Germany. Typically, such high packages are seen in tech giants like Google, Facebook, etc., and usually for senior roles (even in US). Mercedes Benz, while prestigious, is not known for offering such high compensation for software engineers.
Verification through Credible Sources: Levels.fyi, a reliable source for salary ranges, shows much lower compensation figures for software engineers in Mercedes Germany, even for senior roles. You can check the pay ranges here.
Job Description vs. Package: On his LinkedIn profile, he mentions
>We handle 4 TB of data with 100's of Tables and DB's all in real time and production critical for manufacturing each and every vehicles under the star. (Mercedes)
It's worth noting that handling 4 TB of data is not extraordinarily large by today’s standards. Even smaller startups manage petabytes of data.

The broken systems in our State and the need for reforms
I have a long rant about things we face day to day. Will keep it short.
Kerala, our homeland. This beautiful state is in such a bad situation. There are many other problems which I won't address here. Stories of inequality, injustice and many more. I don't face any of these very serious issues. I'm a privileged middle class guy. I actually don't even have an idea about these issues.
Things I know and things that irritates me
1. Buses, autos and all other public transportation.
I travel from Kottayam to Thrissur almost every week. Rash and dangerous driving, I know enough to say that I dont even have to explain this. I feel unsafe as a human being traveling on the road.
2. Unplanned infrastructures that cause all kinds of problems. Recently flooding of our homes and streets. I read that some EU country(Sweden ig) was gonna blame the contractors partially for accidents, because it matters.
3. Bad quality roads. It's a cultural thing now
4. Street dogs. I was attacked. Many people I know have been. Especially at night.
5. Waste management. Dumping it to an unused plot of land is the best option many us have. Tried those worm tub things. Pretty nice. But has its limitations. What about other inorganic wastes. Burning ?
6. Quality control in general. Like bad restaurants which serve expired products to false marketed products
Sorry, I know it's long. Y'all know there's way more and much serious problems - idk maybe things like forgetting stuff after operating people. But these are things that affects everyone. Everyone travels everyday for work, schooling and anything else. They could die. Your loved ones or you could simply die. Now death is the extreme scenario various other exciting life changing events can happen. I'm not trying to focus on one certain problem.
I'm trying to find a way to retaliate and solve these issues. And I have no idea what to do. Why are we tolerating and ignoring these ?
Just because we haven't been affected yet ?
And then what. And by this I don't mean to close down the city in the name of hartals and protesting for some useless ideals by those politicians who are working so hard for the wellbeing of our society.
I'm thinking about a non political and independent group of people that aims in solving these problems. I'm ready for anything. I wanna stand up for my basic rights and help in the upkeep of our society. And I don't have any idea on what to do about this. Not sure how this posts might be recieved but yh if people are interested we could do something.

Is haldi a part of traditional kerala Christian wedding.
I was raised in the Middle East. So I don't have an idea of kerala wedding functions. Recently I came for vacation in kerala for my cousins wedding. Saw argument between my cousin and uncle regarding pre wedding functions. She needs 2 pre wedding functions along with betrothal. Haldi and madhuramveppu. Since my uncle is paying for wedding functions . He said he can only afford betrothal function and madhuramveppu. She is saying haldi is traditional function everybody is doing that. I have seen haldi pics on instagram. But I thought it was just rich people's thing. My cousin is a middle-class family. Is haldi really traditional function?
