Explain Onam to 6 year old non Indian kids

My 6 year old kid’s class teacher has asked me to come to his class and talk to his friends about Onam, its significance and how we celebrate it. Can someone help me how I can go about it? I have 20 mins.

I was planning to talk about the mythology regarding Mahabali and Vamana, but in simple ideas that non indian kids can appreciate.

Can someone point to a few pictures that I can show them to showcase the celebrations? I dont have a lot of family pics in traditional attires but would love if I can get a few from my fellow redditors. Also may be a few pics or paintings of Thiruvathira dance, pulikali etc

Transferring Rupees to dollar

Hi everyone,

We recently sold some property in Kerala and are trying to transfer the funds to the U.S. However, due to the recent budget changes passed in July, it has become quite challenging to do so. I've been in contact with a few people and consulted with a representative from a bank, who suggested opening an account with Axis Bank. According to him, they can facilitate the transfer of up to 2.5 crore INR through Union or another channel. Is this information accurate?

Would appreciate any insights or advice.

Malayalam FMs are intolerable

Recently had a long drive and decided to listen to our dear FMs. I don't know how is people listening to these. Its not music with ads, its ads with rare musics. They even played same ads multiple times during a single break and reached to point I can guess the ad within 1 sec🥲. To add to this, when we change channel its the same ads in all the other channels. Maybe its due to onam season, but still I don't know how people tolerate these. Do you guys listen to radio anymore?
