Has anyone flashed you??

Me and my friends were walking(we are 17, wearing our uniforms btw) and this pichakaaran was nearby. I saw him as soon as we got out of the bus and I felt bad and then this MF just removed his mundu and pisses down looking us straight into our eyes. That was so traumatizing for me and we had to pass by him hoping he wouldn't do anything to us. And the worst thing, the people are, all middle aged men were laughing at us when they should've been stopping this pervert from whatever he was doing. I felt weird and uncomfortable for an entire month after that. I felt nauseous and wanted to vomit everytime I think about. I still comes up in my mind at times and I feel it all over again.

Ayurveda gaining popularity in the West, but what is a Malayalee’s opinion on it? Do you believe it works?

NRI searching for Ayurvedic recommendations in Kochi area, but seeing lots of comments on this sub that people think it’s BS. The west has been looking for more natural and holistic treatments in the last few years, but I want to hear all your opinions

1. Do you believe it works? Why or why not?
2. Do you think there’s value in Ayurveda?
3. If yes, who are some Ayurveda docs in Kochi area worth seeing?

Why the interest in America?

It's more so that the West, specifically the US, lacks balance in the approach to health.

• food at the grocery store often has a lot of preservatives and healthy food is expensive.
Milk from a cow, eggs from your own chickens? Coconuts off a tree? Water from your own well? My guess is not even 2% of America has ever experienced this and it is a very foreign concept to them
• long work days, often behind a screen
• movement is not prioritized
The american dream means the American hustle and a lot of health issues. We are lucky to have all the innovation and treatment at our finger tips, but the American way is to treat the problem once it comes and not practice prevention. Therefore, Americans have become tired of being prescribed medications and are now looking for more "natural treatments instead of drugs from pharmaceutical companies. A lot of these Americans have never experienced something like polio or hepatitis and have never traveled outside the country, so they don't realize how lucky the are to have access to these vaccines and r V but America could do a better job at promoting balance for prevention vs treatment

Another moron on Kerala roads. Why do they do this? Fame on social? We need laws and education to nip these kind of morons in the bud itself.

What are the most recent scams that you had come across recently as a Malayali?

Here are few scams that i had come across recently.

1. Club Resorto / Club Mahendra scam : These guys get your details from malls , car dealerships etc and calls you up and say that you have a free gift of complementary stay in a reputed hotel and some PVR tickets. When you go to collect the gift at the said location, they use pressure selling tactics to buy holiday packages worth lakhs of rupees.

2. Customs scam : you get a call from customs saying that your parcel is stuck and in the call they threaten you that they have found something illegal in the parcel and you are liable to pay some customs duty on this parcel.

3. Money doubling scam : They claim to provide 6 ~ 8% return every month on the investment made. They use some big financial terms to lure customers who are attracted by ROI.

4. Unicef : This might be a legit scam and some might not like it to be called a scam. But what they do is target people in malls and popular hotspots in city, they start by saying are you interested in an activity and then use clever and passionate narrating to try and get a monthly contribution to Unicef.
