O Devas! Know that in this entire universe, there is none other than me. I'm the non-dual one. I'm the ancient one. I'm the one who is eternal and I'm the non-eternal too, I'm the one who is blemishless [sinless]. I'm the one called as Brahmanaspati. I'm all the directions. I'm Savitri, I'm Gayatri. All these male, female and eunuchs also are me. I'm the Thrishtup, Jagati, Anushthup, Pankti chandas. I'm the one known through Vedas, I'm the truth, I'm peace, and I'm respect. I'm the lord of the universe, I'm the oldest, I'm the lord of all, I'm the Bhagawan [supreme personality of godhead], I'm the Lord, I'm the divine light. I'm the Itihasa, and Purana. I'm the Kalpa [eon], I'm the Upa-Kalpa [minor-eon], I'm the one who create these Kalpas, I'm the knowledge, I'm in the hymns of Upanishads, I'm mantra, and I'm the Vyakhyana [commentary] also. I'm the sacrificial offerings, I'm the donor, I'm the donation, I'm Ihaloka [this material world where jiva takes birth], I'm Paraloka [world where Jiva goes after departure], I'm Akshara [imperishable] and I'm kshara [perishable] too, I'm all these creatures. Self-control, serenity, and secrecy are also me. I'm the one having faces everywhere. I'm the end, and middle, I'm the door, I'm outside, I'm inside, I'm the front and back as well. I'm the imperishable one. I'm light and also I'm darkness, I'm the Indriyas [senses organs] and the Tanmatras as well. I'm the mind, intellect and ego. I'm the Vishayas [subjects] also. I'm Brahma, I'm Vishnu, I'm Maheshwara, I'm Uma, I'm Skanda, I'm Vinayaka. I'm Indra, Agni and Yama also. I'm Nairuti, Varuna and Vayo [anil]. I'm Kubera, I'm the fourteen worlds [lokas]. I'm the Sun, I'm the moon, I'm stars and planets as well, I'm all these creatures, I'm the Prana [life energy], I'm the time, death, and eternity. I'm the past, present and future. 🌿श्रीभगवानुवाच -
अहं ब्रह्मा च शर्वश्च जगत: कारणं परम् ।
आत्मेश्वर उपद्रष्टा स्वयंदृगविशेषण: ॥ ५० ॥
Sri Bhagavan said: I, who am known as the supreme cause of the worlds, its soul, its ruler, the witness of everything, the self-effulgent being and Absolute - in truth I am both Brahma and Rudra.
🌿आत्ममायां समाविश्य सोऽहं गुणमयीं द्विज ।
सृजन् रक्षन् हरन् विश्वं दध्रे संज्ञां क्रियोचिताम् ॥ ५१ ॥
O Learned one! Verily I assume different names like Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara, appropriate for the creation, preservation and destruction of the universe, which I perform by assuming My Yoga-maya, which has its three constituent Gunas [of Sattva, Rajas and Tamas].
🌿तस्मिन् ब्रह्मण्यद्वितीये केवले परमात्मनि ।
ब्रह्मरुद्रौ च भूतानि भेदेनाज्ञोऽनुपश्यति ॥ ५२ ॥
In Me, the all-comprehending and all-pervading Self, known as Brahman, the ignorant man sees Brahma, Rudra and other entities as different.
🌿यथा पुमान्न स्वाङ्गेषु शिर:पाण्यादिषु क्वचित् ।
पारक्यबुद्धिं कुरुते एवं भूतेषु मत्पर: ॥ ५३ ॥
Just as a man will not consider the members of his body like the head and the limbs as different from himself but only parts of himself, so does one who has taken refuge in Me sees all beings as parts of Me.
🌿त्रयाणामेकभावानां यो न पश्यति वै भिदाम् ।
सर्वभूतात्मनां ब्रह्मन् स शान्तिमधिगच्छति ॥ ५४ ॥
He attains eternal peace who does not perceive any difference between the three - Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara - who are one in nature and pervade in all beings.

🌿In oneself lies the whole world and if you know how to look and learn, the door is there and the key is in your hand. Nobody on earth can give you either the key or the door to open, except yourself.
🌿Throughout life, from childhood, from school until we die, we are taught to compare ourselves with another; yet when I compare myself with another I am destroying myself.
🌿The reality of truth is not to be bought, to be sold, to be repeated; it cannot be caught in books. It has to be found from moment to moment, in the smile, in the tear, under the dead leaf, in the vagrant thought, in the fullness of love.

🌿Those who like to dwell on the faults of others are human vultures. There is already too much evil in the world.
🌿Don't talk of evil, don't think of evil, and don't do evil. Be like a rose, wafting to all the sweet fragrance of soul goodness. Make everyone feel that you are a friend, that you are a helper.
🌿If you want to be good analyze yourself and develop the virtues in you. Banish the thought that evil has any part in your nature, and it will drop off.
🌿Make everyone else feel that you are an image of God, not by your words but by your behavior. Emphasize the light, and darkness will be no more. Study, meditate, and do good to others.

NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HARI-HARA
🌿"I, Lord Śiva, am this Nārāyaṇa. Of this there is no doubt. Those who see no difference between him and me should be granted the highest wisdom.
🌿This highest form of mine, named Nārāyaṇa, peacefully dwells in the selves of all beings. It is called - the imperishable.
🌿But some people think otherwise, seeing differences in the world. They do not apprehend me, and are born again and again.
🌿There is no rebirth for people who see this Viṣṇu as being one with me, the unmanifest Lord Śiva.
🌿Therefore, you should regard Viṣṇu, the beginningless, endless, imperishable self, as me alone, and worship in that way.
🌿Those people go to terrible hells
who see me otherwise, thinking that he and I are different gods. I do not abide in them.
🌿I liberate those who take refuge in me: the fool and the scholar, the Brahmin and the dog-cooker, but not one who reviles Nārāyaṇa.
🌿Therefore, to give me pleasure, my devotees should praise him and bow to him, the highest spirit, the great yogi.”
🌿Śiva, bearer of the Pināka bow, spoke these words and embraced Viṣṇu. He then disappeared in front of the entire audience of onlookers.

🌿You should all be good and pious – not God fearing, but God loving. Speak the truth. Be just and honest to all. Treat all persons equally. Have faith in Lord Krishna and surrender yourself to Him. Be charitable and never harm the hungry and the weak. Realise that service to men and animals is service to God.
🌿You should strongly believe that Krishna is your God and never slacken your faith in Him. He will surely protect you. You should regard Him as the be-all and end-all of your life. Your ultimate good lies in serving Him, which should be done with all your heart, mind and soul. Trust in His protection. Remember Him always in all thoughts, words and deeds.

Question: We often hear you say: "Think of God." But surely God is unthinkable and formless. What can be thought of must have name and form and therefore cannot be God.
Anandamayi Ma: Yes, without doubt, He is beyond thought, form and description, and yet I say: "Think of Him!" Why?
Since you are identified with the ego, since you think you are the doer, since you say: "I can do this and that," and since you get angry, greedy, and so forth, you therefore have to apply your "I-ness" [ego] to the thought of Him.
True, He is formless, nameless, immutable, unfathomable. All the same He has come to you in the form of the Eternal Sound or the descent of God in the form of the Word, or in the form of Saguna Ishvar or an Avatar. These also are He Himself and consequently, if you abide by His name and contemplate His form, the veil which is your "I" [ego, which creates the sense of duality] will eventually wear out and then He, who is beyond form and thought, will shine forth.
You think that you are engaging in sadhana, but actually it is He who does everything, without Him nothing can be done. And if you imagine that you receive according to what you do, this is not quite correct either, for God is not a merchant; with Him there is no bargaining.

🌿Both Form and Formlessness belong to the same reality🌿
Well, what suits your taste - God with form or the formless Reality? But to tell you the truth, He who is formless is also endowed with form. To His bhaktas, He reveals Himself as having a form.
It is like a great ocean, an infinite expanse of water, without any trace of shore. Here and there some of the water has been frozen. Intense cold has turned it into ice. Just so, under the cooling influence, so to speak, of the bhakta's love, the Infinite appears to take a [finite] form.
Again, the ice melts when the sun rises; it becomes water as before. Just so, one who follows the path of knowledge [jnana] - the path of discrimination [viveka] - does not see the form of God any more. To him everything is formless. The ice melts into formless water with the rise of the Sun of Knowledge.
But mark this: Both Form and Formlessness belong to one and the same Reality [God].

Once a devotee at Dakshineswar was behaving badly, and I [Swami Adbhutananda] found it impossible to check my irritation. I scolded him and he felt very hurt.
The Master [Sri Ramakrishna] knew how the devotee had suffered, and when the devotee had gone he said to me: "It is not good to speak harshly to those who come here. They are tormented with worldly problems. If they come here and then are scolded for their shortcomings, where will they go? In the presence of a holy company never use harsh words to anyone, and never say anything to cause pain to another."
Do you know what he told me next? "Tomorrow, visit this man and speak to him in such a way that he will forget what you said to him today."
So the next day I visited him. My pride was humbled. I spoke to him very sweetly. When I returned, however, the Master asked, "Did you offer him salutations from me?"
Amazed at his words, I said that I had not. Then he said, "Go to him again and offer him my salutations." So again I went to that man and conveyed the Master's salutations. At this the devotee burst into tears. I was moved to see him weeping. When I returned this time the Master said, "Now your misdeed is pardoned."

🍃🌸Happy Janamashtami🌸🍃
This is the birthday of Lord Krishna, the 8th Divine Incarnation. It falls on the 8th day of the dark half of the month of Bhadrapada (Aug-Sept). This is one of the greatest of all Hindu festivals. Lord Krishna was born at midnight. A 24-hour fast is observed on this auspicious day.
The Lord appeared when the moon entered the house of Vrishabha at the constellation of the star Rohini, on Wednesday, the 8th day of the second fortnight of the month of Sravana, which corresponds to the month of Bhadrapada Krishnapaksha according to the Barhaspatyamana, in the year of Visvavasu, i.e. 3227 BC.
Study the Bhagavatam and the Pancharatras, which are equal to the Upanishads. You will know all about the glory of Lord Krishna, His Lilas and superhuman deeds. The eighth avatara, Krishna, who has become the Beloved of India and the world at large, had a threefold objective :-
🌿To destroy the wicked demons.
🌿To play the leading role in the great war fought on the battlefield of Kurukshetra (where he delivered His wonderful message of the Gita).
🌿To become the centre of a marvellous development of the Bhakti schools of India.
There is no true science except devotion to Lord Krishna. That man is wealthy indeed who loves Radha and Krishna. There is no sorrow other than lack of devotion to Krishna. He is the foremost of the emancipated who loves Krishna. The Name, virtues and Lilas (divine pastimes) of Krishna are the chief things to be remembered. The Lotus Feet of Radha and Krishna are the chief objects of meditation.
Devotion is the only means of attaining Lord Krishna. Bhakti kindles love for the Lord. When love is directed towards Krishna, man is freed from the bondage of the world. Though Lord Krishna appeared in a human body, He had a divine body not composed of the five elements. He did not take any birth here in the usual sense of the term. He did not die. He appeared and disappeared through His Yoga Maya as He has declared in the Gita. This is a secret, known only to His devotees, yogis and sages.
Incarnations of God appear for special reasons under special circumstances. Whenever there is much unrighteousness, whenever confusion and disorder set in on account of unrighteousness and baffle the well-ordered progress of mankind, whenever the balance of human society is upset by selfish, ruthless and cruel beings, whenever irreligion and unrighteousness prevail, whenever the foundations of social organisations are undermined, the great Incarnation of God appears in order to re-establish righteousness and to restore peace.
An Incarnation is the descent of God for the ascent of man. The work done by the Incarnation of God and His teachings produce a benign influence on human beings and help them in their upward divine unfoldment and Self-realisation. The Incarnation comes to reveal the divine nature of man and makes him rise above the petty materialistic life of passion and egoism.
Krishna has played various roles during His stay in the world. He was Arjuna’s charioteer. He was an excellent statesman. He was a master musician; he gave lessons even to Narada in the art of playing the veena. The music of His flute thrilled the hearts of the Gopis and everyone else. He was a cowherd in Vrindavan and Gokul. He exhibited miraculous powers even as a child. He killed many demons. He revealed His Cosmic Form to His mother, Yasoda. He performed the Rasa Lila, the secret of which can only be understood by devotees like Narada, Gauranga, Radha and the Gopis. He taught the supreme Truth of Yoga, Bhakti and Vedanta to Arjuna and Uddhava. He had mastered every one of the sixty-four fine arts. Therefore, He is regarded as full manifestation of the God.

The secret of success lies in starting the day aright. Leave the bed with a sublime thought, a noble feeling in your heart. You will go to bed that night with the satisfaction of a day well utilized. Only he who starts his day in the spiritual way knows success, joy, prosperity, progress and good health. The inspiring thoughts gleaned from time to time from Guru will help one and all in their meditation. They are pointers to the Divine life. They will, if meditated upon and put into daily practice, usher in a life of peace, success, prosperity and spiritual felicity.
