Ok i know I’m late on so much posting, but here’s a wip of my next big sewing project 🌱

Long story short my local Uni’s sustainability club launched a uni-wide upcycling contest - and i decided to enter! We have 50 CHF at a random thrift shop and a free to upcycle the purchased item however we please. I chose this amazing woollen blanket thing, and after some research and design i landed on making a super ✨extra ✨historybounded jacket. Largely inspired by cult 70s punk wear and 16th century mercenary doublets, the goal is to make something both sexy, edgy and grandiose :D

I’m also planning on adding a back patch , whose design you might already guess if you’re a usual of the channel :^)

I started by making a mock-up, first by draping ye usual coton poplin on my mannequin, following markers i pinned using light rope. I then tested the draft on heavier coton (which turned out near a perfect fit somehow). I then followed a historical drafting guide for the test sleeve. Could be fluffier imo, will take that into account for the next version x)
