ላለፉት አምስት አመት ሲደረግ የነበረው አውዳሚ ጦርነት በስላም እንዲቋጭ ህዝባችን ስላሙን እንዲያገኝ ወደ ልማት እንዲመለስ ተመኝተን ነበረ ። ለሁለትኛ ጊዜ ዳሬሰላም ታንዛንያ ላይ ሲደረግ የነበረው ድርድር ያለስምምነት ተቋጭታል አሁንም ተስፋ አንቆርጥም ሁሌም ቢሆን ለስላም በር አለ የህዝባችን ስቆቃ የህዝባችን እልቂት የህዝባችን መፈናቀል መቆም አለበት

የኦሮሞ ብልፅግናዎችም የኦሮሞ ልጆች ናቸው OLAም የኦሮሞ ልጆች ናቸው በአይዶሎጂ ልዩነት ሚደረገው መገዳደል በየትኛውም መልኩ ቆሞ በስምምነት ማለቅ አለበት በጦርነት ማንም አሸናፊ ማንም ተሸናፊ የለም ።

Peace is not optional!

አዎ ድርድሩ በሰላም ስላልተቋጨ የህዝባችን እልቂት እንግልት እና መፈናቀል እንዲቀጥል ተደርጓል የበለጠ አስፈሪ ዘመን ከፊታችን እየመጣ ነው. ። በአሁን ስዓት ስላም ይምጣ ስላሙ ይሻለናል ማለት ወዶ ገብካድሬ ፣ስውር ካድሬ ፣አዲስ ገቢ ካድሬ ፣በጥቅም የተገዛቹ የሚያስብል ሆኗል ነገር ግን ህዝቡ ላይ ከሚመጣው መከራ የኑሮ ውድነት መፈናቀል እና ስቃይ ሊያወጣን የሚችለው ብቸኛው መንገድ በድርድር ስላም ሲመጣ ብቻ ነው በምንችለው አቅም አሁንም ስላም እንዲመጣ በምንችለው አቅም እንትጋ ።

#Ethiopia: #IGAD chief appeals to gov’t, #OLA to uphold commitment to peace process; optimistic both parties will initiate new round of talks

The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr Workneh Gebeyehu, appealed “to all involved parties to uphold their commitment to the peace process in the best interest of the people of Ethiopia.”

Dr Workneh made the appeal in a statement issued after the news that the second round peace talks between the Ethiopian government and Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) ended Tuesday night without agreement.

IGAD played a key role in facilitating the peace talks that were taking place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Dr Workneh “acknowledges the vital role of dialogue and negotiation in addressing grievances and resolving conflicts, essential for achieving enduring peace in our region”, the statement said, adding that he is “optimistic that the two sides will initiate a new round of talks to address and resolve the remaining issues.

Subject: Encouragement for Re-engagement in Negotiations between Ethiopian Government and Oromo Liberation Army for Sustainable Peace

Dear Esteemed Leaders,

We are writing this letter to encourage both parties to re-engage in negotiations to find a suitable solution to the differences that have arisen between you. The failure of the recent negotiations disappointed us all since we had all thought that the talks would yield results this time.

Despite the complexity and time burden of the negotiations, we urge you to continue the dialogue and work toward a peaceful settlement for the benefit of your people. In times of difficulty and conflict, it is critical to remember the greater goal that unites you all: the well-being of your people and the quest for permanent peace.

It is critical to realize the significance of re-engagement as you navigate through this difficult and hard time. Even in the midst of distrust and historical hostilities, history again tells us that the route to reconciliation and long-term solutions is paved with dialogue.

At this critical juncture in our nation's history, nothing is more crucial than leveraging the virtuous pursuit of peace through the use of rational and constructive dialogue.

While acknowledging the existing challenges and the erosion of trust caused by prolonged conflicts, we implore both parties to prioritize the needs of your people above all else. Pursuing peace requires courage — the willingness to take calculated risks, step beyond the boundaries of mistrust, and strive for incremental gains that benefit all involved.

We implore you to work for peace, even if it appears unlikely or difficult, especially at this time when thousands of people are displaced, dying of hunger and avoidable diseases.

We understand that the road to reconciliation may be arduous, yet it is undoubtedly worth traversing for the sake of our people’s collective prosperity and the well-being of future generations. The power of constructive dialogue and earnest efforts toward understanding can pave the way for sustainable solutions.

We urge both parties to revisit the negotiation table with open hearts and minds, demonstrating a commitment to the greater good. Embrace the opportunity to seek common ground, leveraging the collective wisdom and strength to forge a path toward lasting peace.
We also want to assure you that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and that your decisions will be guided by wisdom, empathy, and resilience as you negotiate the complexity ahead.

We implore you not to mismanage this momentous opportunity; rather, harness it to deconstruct historical and mistrustful barriers in order to establish a prosperous, peaceful, and stable future for our nation's citizenry.
