β Considered as : The father of modern Kung - Fu
β Kalaripayattu is composed of two words, kalari means βplace of combatβ and payattu means βfightingβ in Malayalam.
β The four stages of Payattu are :
β’ Maippayattu - Body conditioning exercises
β’ Kolthari - Use of wooden weapons
β’ Angathari: Use of sharp metallic weapons
β’ Verumkai : Bare-handed defense and attack.
