After the technical verifications and the starting ceremony, rally Breslau is officially on the go. The race began with a short, 9-kilometers prologue, where the two categories โ€“ Extreme and Cross-Country had their separate routes. For the CC it was a fast sandy track with a tricky navigation and for the EX we saw a pure Breslau stage, with challenging mudholes and water crossings.

In the bike class, it was Bartolomiej Tabin (KTM) from Poland, who set the best time, steeling some 20 seconds from his compatriot Krzysztof Jarmuz (KTM). Another Polish triumph was in the ATV class, where Kamil Baszczynski (Polaris) beat Marcin Wilkolek (Polaris) with 15 seconds.

Janus Van Kasteren (Yamaha) claimed the stage win in the SSV class, with tiny 8 seconds advance to another Dutch - Jan Van Gerven (Can Am).

In the Car Open CC class Mindaugas Povilaitis (Toyota) from Lithuania claimed the best t ime on the prologue. As the short track suggest, here the differences also were small - Herman Jasper (Bowler) from Nederlands were second for the day, only 11 seconds behind the leader. In the Cat Limited CC it was Gregorz Brochocki (Toyota), who bring another good news to the host-country of Breslau.

In the Truck CC class, William Van Groningen (Iveco) won the prologue and will open the first full-scale stage in front of his compatriot from Nederlands Marc Leeuw (Ginaf).

Moving to the Extreme category, the well-known Estonian pilot Hardo Mere (HM7 Proto) won the muddy prologue in the car class, with more than three minutes advance to his countryman Karl-Erik Abram (Toyota). Stefan Braun (Unimog) was the fastest in the samll truck class, and his compatriot Ralf Britz (MAN) will open the stage for the big trucks.

Robert Przybyล‚owski (POL) #95 Enduro category.

๐ŸŽคHello, Today is the first day of our rally in Breslau. It was the prologue. The prologue was about 10 kilometers long. I finished in tenth place. I am satisfied with this result because, as we say, it is an inauguration for me with this heavy motorcycle. Additionally, it was fully fueled, so 30 liters. This added extra weight, but I ride with a heavy load to get used to this type of rally and riding on sand with a full load. As I said, congratulations to my colleagues. Congratulations to the organizer for a well-prepared course. And thanks also to my sponsors for allowing me to participate today. Keep your fingers crossed for me and we continue. See you tomorrow.

Jan van Gerven &
Rudolf Meijer (NLD) #434 SSV category

Hello, my name is Jan van Gerven, I drive a buggy we come from Holland.

My name is Rudolf Meyer. I'm his navigator for two days we met two days ago. He just called to me, he needed a navigator and I came to the Breslau Rallye. We're having some fun here, you can say.

Yesterday we secured the second place on the prologue. Today we started as a second car. I'm quite happy now for the first place. It was a tricky day. The key point was in navigating, because it was a lap we did around, I think, four or five times the same lap, but in different ways. So left side of the trees, right side of the tree, back, forward. It was going everywhere with the stock new Can-Am, heavy. You only change the fuel tank and the roll cage. And the rest of it is... We never drive with the car. And we are very happy that we are so fast. Also, I am very happy with my navigator. Today, I never had a day that I didn't do so well that everything went right. It's a good car, but the fuel was tricky. Halfway to the second stage, he said, how long? How long? Because the fuel is almost running out. I'm scary, scary. Looking at my tank. How long, how long? And I think that the last drop of fuel brought us to the finish.A lot of guys are still out there without fuel.

Janus started in front of us. We almost left at the same time and then there was a small part of the neutralization and over there they stepped out to take a leak and make a chat and I said we have to go we have to go we can go because the timer was saying no more time left you can go but there were no marshals so that's where we overtook them, then we made one wide lap, they overtook us one more time, and then he had a broken driveshaft, so we had to do some mechanics, and he finished eventually 20 minutes behind us..

Slavomir Volkov (LTU) #259 Toyota Hilux Car Open category

๐ŸŽคHello everyone. My name is Slavomir Volkov. We are now at the Breslau Rally. This is probably my third time participating in this rally. Each time, it surprises with various unexpected things. Today was a very interesting day. It was a long special stage. One after another, without stopping. The route was not easy, but somehow we managed to complete it quite well. What's new at the Breslau Rally is the new roadbook. This new roadbook really proved its worth today, and thanks to it, there were fewer mistakes than usual, as there are often very confusing routes and difficult navigation here. But this time, everything was simpler. And what else? Well, we are looking forward to the coming days. Tomorrow we start again. We are now driving a jeep. Alright, see you tomorrow.

Ernest Cesokas (LTU) #450 SSV category

๐ŸŽคHello, my name is Ernestas. Our start number is 450. It's my first rally in Breslau as a co-driver and today we had a fantastic special stage and unfortunately at the end of the stage 100 m to the finish our gas empty and we we had to push our buggy by hands to the finish line, it was around 100 meters so we pushed really, really strong. We lost some time. It was a little bit tricky navigation all the day, but at the end, we are here at the finish. We saw a lot of buggies crashed, so we are happy to be here.

Michal Grzywna (POL) #75 Enduro category

๐ŸŽคHello, my name is Michael. I'm from Warsaw, Poland. This is the first time I'm competing in Wroclaw. I took part in the Hellas Rally, twice. Today is the first stage. Two stages, about 160 km. Today is a good day for me. The bike was very good. It's a good day for me because today is fast. Today's route is very easy for me. I made a small mistake but it is not a problem. The navigation was good and the speed was good.
Rallye Breslau, Leg 1. Enduro: debutante adventure

On the first full race day of Rallye Breslau 2024, a 135.78km special stage awaited the competitors. Difficult course, difficult navigation โ€” in the Enduro classification the average speed of the winner of the special stage was less than 60 km/h!

Amerigo Ventura will participate in the Italian Baja alongside co-driver Erika Mingozzi in a Yamaha YXZ1000R with Quaddy Racing Team.

๐ŸŽค What to sayโ€ฆ it is our home race! Even if Iโ€™m from Turin (around 500 km from Pordenone), I feel at home at the Italian Baja. I started participating with a quad in 2015 and from 2017 with an SSV. This is out of our program, which is the World Cup, but we canโ€™t miss it.

The biggest purpose of this race is to build some experience for Erika and test some new components. We will give our best, as always, in order to entertain the home fans!
๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ“–Rallye Breslau: Lithuanian Point of View on LEG1

The first special stage of the Breslau Rally wasnโ€™t a walk in the park for the four-wheeled competitors. The 145 km distance, with 121 km against the clock, was a challenge for the competitors. The tank training area in Zagan tested both man and machine.

Rollovers, technical problems, including the leaderโ€™s, punctures, difficult navigation and insufficient fuel to reach the finish line forced some competitors to push their cars to the finish line by hand.

Letโ€™s hear from the Lithuanian competitors as they share their impressions of the day.
