🎤So, just done prologue. So, prologue doesn't count into the rally. So, we just have positions and first ten choose starting position. So, we came here fourth overall and actually we were going second on the road. It was damn slippery, really very very slippery, but okay. I think the result we've done it's okay. So, we're going to choose starting position and we have another 90 kilometers of special stages today.
And now we are in Portugal. Yeah, yeah, actually this is great Portuguese wall. Nearly say Chinese wall, you know. I've been here already once before. So, yeah, Bahia dos is just on the Spanish and Portuguese border. So, we have a closed park, Parque Firme, here and we are going to choose starting positions in Portugal. And I think part of the stage will be in Portugal as well, but I might be mistaken.

🎤Okay, we are at the prologue. It was short, 6 kilometers, something like that, but it was very tricky and really slippery on the track. We were third car on the road, so we must be careful, really, to not do something stupid. It's only prologue, okay? So, now we have big gap, and then we start for true stage, and then we must push.

So, the prologue was nice, but the car is really different from Can-Am, so this OT3 is a different philosophy. I'm trying to understand better the car and I hope after the launch, in the next stage, I will be a little bit more fast.

🎤Well, the prologue here in Extremadura Baja is over, marking the first day of the first phase. It was a bit different from last year, still fast, but we're still getting used to the car. Unfortunately, I stalled the car at the start; I'm not used to using this gearbox, but it's part of adapting to a new reality. I think in the afternoon stage, I'll feel more comfortable; I feel better in open terrain. Let's see how it goes; we'll give our best. I have to thank the team for the great car they've put in my hands to fight for victory at this moment.

🎤So, today we made the prologue, it was in Spain, right now we are here in Portugal, I'm close to my town, I'm around 70 km from my home. So, it was a really nice prologue, we are first car on the road, so it was a bit tricky, but we managed to make second place. We made a big, big improvement on the car yesterday, we made a very good shakedown, so let's see what is coming for today's stage and for tomorrow, but we hope that we can make the best result possible, let's try to win this race, first time, so let's see. But we are strong and we will give some fight with our Mini. Let's go.

🎤Good morning, we just finished the prologue. It's one of my favorite prologues, it's spectacular, with an incredible landscape. At the beginning, since it doesn't count in terms of driving, we were cautious, but we really enjoyed it. Now we're here in our wonderful Portugal, and well, the race is going to start here in six and a half kilometers, and well, today we'll understand how our competitors are doing, and tomorrow, based on what we saw today, we'll manage the race.

Baja Extremadura 2024, Stage 1 (moto)
The first big special stage (89.43 km) brought great chaos in the bikes standings. The initiative was completely seized by the riders from Spain - the winner of CC1 and the new leader of the race was Arnau Lledó on Fantic. In the overall standings, the first four positions are held by representatives of Spain.
The main surprise was the problems of almost all the favorites of the FIM Bajas World Cup. The winner of the morning prologue, Spaniard Edgar Canet, did not finish. The Portuguese Bruno Santos, David Megre, Pedro Bianchi Prata, as well as Mohammed Al Balooshi from the UAE lost from 12 to 25 minutes on the track!
P.S. A few hours after the finish of the special stage, the SS1 results in the bike and quad standings were completely changed (huge number of penalties). The winner of the special stage and the leader of the race was the Portuguese Bruno Santos (Husqvarna).

🎤Hi, I'm William Buller. I'm driving the Yamaha YXZ in the European Cup. We've just finished the Prologue. It was a nice stage, it was very fast. It wasn't so good for the Yamaha because we were down in the horsepower a little bit, but it was a lot of fast straights, not so technical, where the Yamaha excelled. So we're SS1 today, the special stage. It's about 70km to do. We don't know what's ahead. It's the first time that I've done this race, but I think the tracks will be really fun and interesting.
