Transparency International Ethiopia(TIE) held a roundtable discussion with media house owners and media personnel
A third round dialogue platform was held at Harmony Hotel Addis Ababa with media house owners and media personnel. The theme of the discussion was on the issue of the expected role of media house owners in fighting corruption and promoting democratic governance and rule of law in Ethiopia.
Samuel Kassahun, Executive Director of TIE, opened the platform where he reminded participants the vital role media houses are expected to play with regards to fighting corruption and promoting good governance in Ethiopia. Ato Samuel brought up relevant case in points from other countries and encouraged Ethiopian media houses to follow these best examples.
Zelalem Tesfaye, Assistant Professor at Bahir Dar University and main resource person on the event, moderated the discussion. The principal moderator along with Ato Tibebu Bekele, director of Ahadu Radio, led the following discussion on possible remedies and the wayforward.
Ato Samuel, as he wrapped up the session, extended his gratitude to all participants and once again underscored the importance of putting in to practice the take away points from the workshop.
The event is part of the European Union Civil Society Fund III supported project titled "Ensuring Participation of Actors for Transparency and Accountability of Institutions to Support the fight against Corruption and Promote Democratic Governance and Rule of Law in Ethiopia".

Transparency Ethiopia held discussion with Hawassa University students
A discussion session was held with 100 (one hundred) Hawassa University graduating class students on the theme 'being responsible,transparent and accountable citizens'.
The training and discussion session aimed at equipping university graduate students to serve the community in their field of study ; fight corruption and be responsible ; serve their society honestly and sincerely;be transparent, contribute to the development of the country, and strive to be a good public servant.
At the end of the session, the graduating students took an oath where they underscored a commitment to abstain from corruption , immoral practices , and practices that harm society, to protect human rights and dignity, and to fight discrimination in practice as they join the workforce.
Mr.Woyesa Woka(TIE Regional Representative) concluded the session by reminding the participating students to serve their country and community faithfully, sincerely and responsibly.
Mr Woyessa expressed gratitude to Dr.Belay Abebe , for an insightful and informative training and presentation on the fight against corruption. He also thanked Dr. Zufan ( Dean of College of Natural and Computational Science ) for delivering an enlightening and motivating speech.

Transparency International Ethiopia gives training to Wolaita Sodo University students.
Transparency International Ethiopia has trained Wolaita Sodo University Student's Club Leaders and members on Corruption and Anti-Corruption Movement in Ethiopia. A parallel training on the topic of International and Domestic Legal Instruments to Combat Corruption was also given.
The program trained 50 Wolaita Sodo University Club Leaders and aimed to capacitate youths at the university to have necessary knowledge about Corruption and Anti-Corruption Movement in Ethiopia and International and Domestic Legal Instruments to Combat Corruption.
Mr.Amanuel , TIE regional representative , opened the session and welcomed the participants and made brief information about the profile of Transparency Ethiopia and briefly explained the purpose of the two days event.
