Ayat 1-3 Surah Fajr

The Explanation of Al-Fajr and what comes after it

Allah swears,

By the dawn;

And by the ten nights,

And by the even and the odd.

Concerning Al-Fajr, it is well known that it is the morning.

This was said by Ali, Ibn Abbas, Ikrimah, Mujahid and As-Suddi.

It has been reported from Masruq and Muhammad bin Kab that Al-Fajr refers to the day of Sacrifice (An-Nahr) in particular, and it is the last of the ten nights.

The ten nights' refers to the (first) ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

This was said by Ibn Abbas, Ibn Zubayr, Mujahid and others among the Salaf and the latter generations.

It has been confirmed in Sahih Al-Bukhari from Ibn Abbas that the Prophet said,

There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these days.

meaning the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.

They (the companions) said, "Not even fighting Jihad in the way of Allah''

He replied,

Not even Jihad in the way of Allah; except for a man who goes out (for Jihad) with his self and his wealth, and he does not return with any of that.

Every Muslim needs to say these words once after every salah from the fajr of 9 Dhul Hijjah for 23 Salahs. This means if you’re celebrating Eid on Friday then begin from tomorrow morning & if you’re celebrating Eid on Saturday then begin from Friday morning.

10 POINTS ON THE DAY OF ARAFAH*🌸🌼

The day of ‘Arafah is the most important day for a Haji. Whilst only a select few of the Ummah are chosen by Allah ﷻ ‎ to physically be on the plains of ‘Arafat on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah, there are several virtues and deeds mentioned regarding the day of ‘Arafah which apply to those afar as well. Here are ten of them:

*VIRTUES OF THE DAY*

*1.* The day of ‘Arafah is one of the *best days of the year*, Anas رضي الله عنه says:

“The day of ‘Arafah equals 10, 000 days in virtue” [1]

*2.* “On the day of Arafah, Allāh ﷻ‎ *frees from jahannam* even those who are not physically in Arafah. Therefore the next day is Eid for all.” [2]

3. The Day of ‘Arafah has also been labelled as *“Yawmul Eid”* by ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhu) as its the day in which Allāh ﷻ announced the perfection of Islam. [3]

*DEEDS FOR THIS DAY*

*4. DO:*

i Fast
ii Recite dhikr in abundance
iii Excessive Du’a
iv Sadaqah

*5. DON’T*

• Persist on Sin (i.e, rather make *tawbah* -repent- from all sins)

• Be arrogant

These two types of people are deprived on this blessed day. [4]

*6. Dhikr on the Day of ‘Arafah*

Rasulullah ﷺ would recite the following abundantly on the day of Arafah:

“لاإلٰه إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك وله الحمد بيده الخير وهو على كل شئ قدير“

_La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu lahul mulku walahul hamdu biyadihil khayru wahuwa ‘ala kuli shayin qadir_ [5]

*7.* ‘Ali’s رضي الله عنه dua on the Day of ‘Arafah

_Allahumma a’tiq raqabati minan nar wa awsi’li minar rizqil halal, wasrif ‘anni fasaqatil jinni wal ins_

*Translation:* O Allah! Free me from the fire, increase my lawful sustenance, and keep away the transgressive Jin and humans from me. [6]

*8.* “Fasting on the day of Arafah will *expiate the sins of the past and future year.*” [7]

*9.* Rasulullah ﷺ said:
“He who protects his ears, eyes and tongue on this day (Day of ‘Arafah) will be forgiven” [8]

*10.* The day of ‘Arafah is the day when *Shaytan is most humiliated* (due to Allah’s extensive forgiveness) [9]

_May Allah ﷻ ‎ grant us all the tawfiq (ability) to practice on all the above and may He bless us with repeated opportunities of physically being on the plains of ‘Arafat._

Be on the Alert for the Day Of Arafah

💛💞💞💗💕🖤💙

The Day of Arafah is NOT a day for cleaning/organizing the home.
Nor is it a day for shopping or going out for fun
Nor is it a day for resting, wasting time or sleeping

The Day of Arafah is no ordinary day

It is a Day in which Allah has Honored
It is a Day in which Allah has Glorified
It is a Day in which Allah boasts about the people of Arafah to the Angels
It is a Day in which Allah saves people from the Hell-Fire
It is a Day of good deeds and striving in worship
It is a Day Of forgiveness
It is a Day of mercy and great bounty
It is a Day of tears and supplication (du’as)
It is a Day of fasting where sins (minor) are forgiven for the past year and next

The Day of Arafah is a Great Day in the Sight of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him). It is the best day of the entire year. The piety in our hearts should drive us to take advantage of every second of this day. Whoever honors the Symbols of Allah has honored His Deen.

May Allah accept this day from us.

By Al-'Asr (the time).

Verily! Man is in loss,

Except those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma'ruf) which Allah has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar) which Allah has forbidden), and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allah's Cause during preaching His religion of Islamic Monotheism or Jihad, etc.).

Virtues of the Month of Muharram:🌸🦋

Amongst its greatest virtues is that the Day of Ashoorah is found within it. It is a Day in which the Prophet (sallal-laahua-alayhi-wasallam) selected for the performance of fasting.

Likewise, Moosaa (alayhis-sallam) fasted on this day in order to thank Allaah for drowning pharaoh and his people. And after the death of Moosa (alayhis-salaam), the Jews also used to fast on this day of Ashoorah.

When the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) arrived in Madeenah, he found the Jews fasting on this day of Ashoorah, so he said to them:

‘’What is this fasting of yours?’’ They said: ‘’It was the day Allaah gave victory to Moosa and his people and humiliated pharaoh and his people. Indeed, Moosaa fasted on this Day, so we also fast. So the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: We have more right to (follow) Moosaa than you.’’

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) continuously fasted this day and commanded the companions to fast as well. However, the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) want us to oppose the Jews, so he commanded us to fast a day before Ashoorah (i.e. the 9th of Muharram) before fasting on the 10th (i.e. Day of Ashoorah); and it is stated in another narration: ‘’A day after it (i.e. a day after Ashoorah); but fasting on the 9th day of Muharram before fasting the 10th of Al-Muharram (i.e. the day of Ashoorah) is more established.
So we fast on the day of Ashoorah (i.e. the 10th of Muharram) in order to follow the example of Allaah’s Prophet Moosaa (alayhis-salaam), and it was the day in which Allaah gave victory to the Muslims (of Bani Israaeel). It is victory for the Muslims until the Day of Judgement and a blessing from Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) for which He is thanked through the act of fasting.

Fasting on the Day of Ashoorah is a Sunnah Mu-akkadah [i.e. a practice the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) performed continuously). Therefore, the Muslim fasts on the 9th of Muharram and the 10th of Muharram, and this is a Sunnah that has continued—all praise is due to Allaah—and fasting on this day is emphasized, whilst seeking Allaah’s reward and in order to thank Him.
The way of the Prophets and their true followers is that they thank Allaah for giving them victory through performance of acts of obedience and remembrance of Allaah. However, they do not innovate anything in this affair because that was the way of the people of the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance. It is not permissible for a Muslim to exceed the limits in this affair.
