When sending large files shared from another app on iOS, you can now watch an animated progress bar to find out if you have enough time for a tea or if you should stick with espresso. If you don’t want messages in your secret chats to hang around forever, Telegram lets you set self-destruct timers to permanently remove them. After a message is received, it remains in the chat for a predetermined period — you can choose times between one second and one week – before disappearing. Telegram users will now be able to press and hold any items in the list to reorder them and change their priority – downloading the top file first. Telegram lacks the Stories feature of some competing messaging apps which lets you post images or short videos without messaging a contact directly. Admittedly it isn’t an essential feature for most people.

Disabled: Turn off automatic night mode and always use the chosen theme. To preview a chat, simply press and hold its profile picture in your chat list.
