【警方將於理大展開進一步行動】
晚上大約八時半，繼早前連接理工大學與紅磡火車站的行人天橋被暴徒焚毀後，近暢運道通往尖東的部分行人天橋亦被暴徒縱火破壞。暴徒三番四次破壞公物，又投擲磚頭及汽油彈等，危害在場人士安全，行為令人髮指。
為確保在理工大學所有人的安全，警方再一次呼籲校園內所有人，立即循北面李兆基樓（Y座）出口離開，並聽從警方指示。警方現正部署下一步的行動。
At about 8:30PM, after setting fire to the flyover connecting the Hong Kong Polytechnic University campus and Hung Hom MTR station, rioters burnt part of the footbridge near Cheong Wan Road towards Tsim Sha Tsui East. Rioters recklessly vandalised facilities and hurled bricks and petrol bombs at police officers, jeopardising public safety.
To ensure safety of everyone in the vicinity of the campus, the Police have repeatedly appealed to all to leave immediately via Block Y of Lee Shau Kee Building in Northern direction and listen to Police’s instructions. Police are now planning for the next round of operation.

警方警告，駕駛人士切勿以車輛堵塞道路，以免影響警方行動。如遇到刻意堵路的車輛，警方將會果斷執法，包括將車輛移走。警方亦會針對刻意用車輛堵路及阻礙警方行動的人，跟進調查並追究。
After midnight, rioters continue to hurl petrol bombs and hard objects at police officers in Jordan and Tsim Sha Tsui. Police has deployed tear gas for dispersal. Police dispersal operation outside Polytechnic University is still ongoing. Some drivers intentionally parked their vehicles in a manner that blocks major roads, such as Princess Margaret Road, Mody Road, Salisbury Road, etc. in Tsim Sha Tsui and Jordan.
Police warn the drivers not to use their vehicles to block roads and obstruct Police operation in Tsim Sha Tsui and Jordan. We will take prompt measures when encountering such vehicles, including towing away the vehicles. Police will definitely conduct further investigation and pursue those who obstructed the Police’s execution of duty.

【警方押解女被捕人求醫期間被暴徒搶犯 警員生命受威脅下開三槍】
警方今日凌晨，於彌敦道及佐敦道交界，因《參與非法集結》拘捕了一名20歲中國籍女子。這名被捕人因為頭部受傷，警方為其安排救護車送院，並由兩名警務人員負責押解。
在清晨約二時四十分，前往接載被捕人的救護車去到佐敦道及渡船街交界，因為交通阻塞，救護員要徒步前往女被捕人的位置。於清晨約三時，當女被捕人、救護員及押解女被捕人的警員返回位於佐敦道及渡船街的救護車時，大批暴徒攻擊救護車，並搶走這名被捕人，而負責押解的警員則被圍困於救護車內。暴徒向警員投擲石頭、磚塊，及淋灑不明液體，一名警員在生命受到嚴重威脅下開了三槍，初步相信沒有擊中人。
警方對於暴徒襲擊警員，並搶去被捕人，予以最嚴厲譴責。
警方現時正通緝這名女被捕人，警方強調《協助罪犯》為嚴重罪行，一經定罪，最高刑罰為監禁十年。警方呼籲市民提供這名逃犯的資料。

Earlier today, Police arrested a Chinese female, 20-year-old, for “Participating in an Unlawful Assembly” at the junction of Nathan Road and Jordan Road. Since she was suffering from head injury, Police had arranged an ambulance to convey her to hospital for medical treatment. Two Police officers were assigned to be on escort duty.
At around 2:40 AM, an ambulance arrived at the junction of Ferry Street and Jordan Road. The ambulance could not proceed further due to traffic obstruction. The ambulancemen met up with the arrested person and the two Police officers on foot. Later, at around 3 AM, as the arrested person, the ambulancemen, and the two Police officers, arrived at the junction of Ferry Street and Jordan Road, a mob of rioters assaulted the Police officers and assisted the arrested person to escape. The Police officers, performing escorting duties, were surrounded and trapped in the ambulance. Rioters hurled rocks and bricks and splashed unknown liquid at the Police officers. One Police officer, in face of grave danger and threat to his life, fired three shots from his service firearm. Initial enquiry shows that the shots did not hit anyone.
Police express utmost condemnation in the rioters' flagitious act of assaulting Police officers and aiding the arrested person to escape.
The arrested person is now “Wanted” by Police. We stress that “Assisting Offender” is a serious offence and the maximum sentence upon conviction after trial is ten years of imprisonment. Police appeal to members of the public to provide information on this arrested person.

Since midnight, a large gang of rioters gathered at Cheong Wan Road, hurled petrol bombs at the Police. They also set objects ablaze. Multiple explosions were heard. Police have been conducting dispersal operation. Specialised Crowd Management Vehicle and tear gas were deployed.
At around 5:30 AM, Police continue to conduct dispersal and arrest operation. At the mean time, rioters gathering inside the Polytechnic University set fire and caused extensive damage.
We reiterate that we had not “raided” the premises of Polytechnic University. Fires were observed in various locations in the University premises. Explosives, flammable substances and dangerous goods also pose threats to anyone therein. Police appeal to anyone inside Polytechnic University to leave immediately.

為確保現場人士安全，警方再次呼籲於理工大學校園內的人立刻放下武器或危險品，並除下防毒面具，和平有序地，循暢運道南橋的馬路橋面離開，過程中必須聽從警方指示分批進行，切勿衝擊警方防線。
At around 8 AM today (Nov 18), a large group of masked rioters who have been holed up in the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong suddenly charged at Police cordons, many holding petrol bombs. After repeated warnings were ignored, Police officers dispersed the rioters with tear gas, the minimum force necessary. The rioters are hereby warned to stop their unlawful acts.
To ensure public safety, the Police appeal to everyone inside the Polytechnic University to drop their weapons and dangerous items, remove their gas masks and leave via the top level of Cheong Wan Road South Bridge in an orderly manner. They should follow police instructions and must not charge at police cordons.

因應香港理工大學（理大）持續有暴力事件發生，警方留意到衝突過程中，大學內有人受傷，當中包括未成年人士。警方高度關注並已立即主動安排救護車，按照警方現場指示安排傷者送院，接受治療。而今早，警方已經協調紅十字會志願醫療團隊，進入理大提供醫療協助。而下午約二時，有關志願醫療團隊已經成功進入理大並提供協助。而部分傷者有需要亦會轉介醫院治理。
鑒於事態發展，警方會安排離開理大的傷者，先送院接受治療，稍後再作跟進調查。
警方強調，關於未成年被捕人的權益，我們有一套嚴謹且全面的指引。而對於今次事件中未成年的被捕人士，警方會盡最大努力安排合適成人陪伴和提供協助。

The Police are aware of injuries inside the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong (PolyU) which has been struck by recurrent violence. The Police attach great importance to the situation and have arranged for ambulances to convey injured people to hospital for treatment. This morning, the Police started to make arrangement for Red Cross volunteers to enter the PolyU at around 2 PM to provide first aid to injured people, some of whom would be conveyed to hospital if necessary.
With reference to the latest development, the Police will assist the injured people who have left the PolyU to first receive treatment in hospital before further investigation.
The Police stress that there are stringent and comprehensive guidelines on handling the rights of underage arrested persons. Police officers will make the best effort to arrange for appropriate adults to accompany the arrested persons and to render assistance.
The Police are also aware that President Teng of the PolyU stated he would accompany arrested people to Police stations. We have actively engaged the school’s management to make respective arrangement. The Police stress that we always endeavour to seek a peaceful resolution to the violent incidents in the PolyU.
Since a large amount of weapons, including petrol bombs and explosives, remain on PolyU campus and dangerous chemicals have been stolen from the laboratory, this poses a grave threat to public safety. The Police once again appeal to masked rioters to put an end to violence, listen to Police instructions and leave the campus in an orderly manner.

因應香港理工大學（理大）的暴力衝突，現時仍有大批人逗留在理大範圍內，而當中部分為未成年人。為確保未成年被捕人的權益，社會福利署將會派遣一隊社工進入理大範圍，協助及陪同他們離開，看管他們的福利事宜，並會陪同他們進入警署接受進一步調查。警方再次強調，我們一直希望可以用和平方法解決現時衝突，而所有人都必須盡快和平有序地離開理大。
In response to the violent incidents in the Polytechnic University (PolyU), a large number of rioters, some of whom are underage, still remain on campus. To ensure the welfare of the underage arrested people, the Social Welfare Department have sent a team of social workers to the PolyU to assist and accompany them to leave the campus. The social workers will also look after their welfare and keep them company during further investigation in Police stations. The Police always hope for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflicts and appeal to the rioters to leave the PolyU in an orderly manner.

【香港警务处处长邓炳强：坚守岗位打击暴力 尽快恢复社会秩序】
19日上午，刚刚上任的香港警务处处长邓炳强举行记者会，表示将坚守岗位，打击暴力，尽快恢复社会秩序。
邓炳强说，今天能够接任警务处处长，继续为香港的治安作出贡献，其实是我毕生的荣幸。其实理应我是应该感到兴奋，但是我眼见着过去的五个多月，香港发生的事情，不法之徒是枉顾香港的法治，冲击法治，到处纵火，到处堵路，到处袭击市民，以及袭击我们警务人员，其实这一刻我的心情是很哀伤的，那我唯有在我现在这个工作岗位里，继续去承担，我希望在接下来的日子里，可以是首先保护好我的同事，支持我们的同事继续去执法，也都希望暴力的人士不要再用暴力了，我也希望社会继续支持我们的工作，希望香港的治安能够尽快恢复平静。

19日上午，刚刚上任的香港警务处处长邓炳强举行记者会，表示将坚守岗位，打击暴力，尽快恢复社会秩序。
邓炳强说，今天能够接任警务处处长，继续为香港的治安作出贡献，其实是我毕生的荣幸。其实理应我是应该感到兴奋，但是我眼见着过去的五个多月，香港发生的事情，不法之徒是枉顾香港的法治，冲击法治，到处纵火，到处堵路，到处袭击市民，以及袭击我们警务人员，其实这一刻我的心情是很哀伤的，那我唯有在我现在这个工作岗位里，继续去承担，我希望在接下来的日子里，可以是首先保护好我的同事，支持我们的同事继续去执法，也都希望暴力的人士不要再用暴力了，我也希望社会继续支持我们的工作，希望香港的治安能够尽快恢复平静。

据港媒报道，国务院19日任免香港特区官员，任命邓炳强为警务处处长。同日起，沿用了20年的香港警队口号“服务为本 精益求精”也改为“忠诚勇毅 心系社会”，警务处网站、警总记者室等已换上新口号。
据悉，这句新口号并非因近期的暴乱活动而做创作。今年初，为纪念警队成立175周年，警队编制《香港警队一百七十五周年纪念——忠诚勇毅 心系社会》特刊时，已有这一句口号。

Superintendent Louis Lau Siu Pong reported live from the periphery of the Polytechnic University. Here’re some key points:
A) Polytechnic University
• Around 1,000 people have been arrested and/ or recorded, including around 300 aged below 18.
• Flexible arrangement: Underage people can leave after having photos taken and personal data collected. Police reserve the rights to pursue the case later on.
• No plan for a deadline so far.
B) Cross-Harbour Tunnel
• Cross-Harbour Tunnel remains closed due to the vandalism and destruction by rioters.
• Clearing of debris is still in progress.
• Police are working closely with other Government departments with a view to re-opening the tunnel as soon as possible.
C) Coordination Team
• A special coordination team is formed, operating 24 hours.
• Aim: Coordinate efforts of different sectors to assist in negotiating, lobbying and counselling.
• Around 500 public figures have taken part: school principals, teachers, social workers, lawmakers, Red Cross volunteers, MSF doctors, Samaritans Befrienders volunteers and religious workers.
D) Appeal
• PolyU remains cordoned off.
• Two main principles: 1) Peaceful solution 2) Flexible approach
• Parents and guardians who suspect their children still remain on campus should get in touch with them soonest.
• The people who still remain on campus should give up their weapons and leave in an orderly manner. They are guaranteed fair treatment.

警方留意到有網上媒體報道指，警方車輛於星期二(11月19日)凌晨油麻地暴亂中涉及交通意外，並且有人因交通意外受傷，甚至死亡。警方嚴正澄清，絕無此事。
於星期二凌晨的暴亂中，警方曾調派車輛趕到現場處理，但警方車輛於當日行動中絕無碰撞到任何人，更遑論涉及交通意外，導致他人受傷或死亡。警方就相關失實謠言，表示極度遺憾。
而醫院管理局早前亦已作出澄清指：「根據紀錄，公立醫院在該日接收的傷者中，並沒有死亡個案。」

Certain online reports accuse that a Police vehicle was involved in a fatal traffic accident during a violent incident in Yau Ma Tei last Tuesday (19 November). The Police clarify that this is false.
In the small hours of Tuesday, the Police deployed a vehicle to handle the chaos in Yau Ma Tei but it did not bump into anyone, let alone causing a fatal traffic accident. The Police express regret over this false rumour.
The Hospital Authority have clarified: “According to our records, there is no death resulting from the cases of injuries received by public hospitals that day.”
