The violent demonstrations in our city, which started more than eight months ago, are not over yet. Last November, the Hong Kong Police Force invoked Section 40 of the “Public Order Ordinance” for the first time since the 1960s, in order to recruit officers from other disciplined services to serve as “Special Constables” and assist the Police in stopping violence and curbing disorder. To date, a total of 421 officers have been appointed Special Constables. Over half of them are from the Correctional Services Department (CSD), while the rest are from the Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) and the Immigration Department (ImmD). Special Constables are mainly responsible for guarding government premises or locations that face a greater risk of being attacked. Each officer is on duty for about three days a week, they are armed and wear a special armband for identification purposes when on duty.

警方再拘捕一名女子，涉嫌與屯門襲擊案有關，並正積極追查，不排除稍後有更多人被捕。
警方留意到近日一段網上流傳短片，涉及一名女子於屯門被人襲擊。經過主動調查，警方於2月25日以「襲擊致造成實際身體傷害」罪名，拘捕一名涉嫌在片中襲擊受害人的女子。警方亦於翌日(2月26日) 晚上，再拘捕另一名片中的女施襲者。
警方高度重視童黨欺凌行為，絕不姑息任何暴力罪行。警方提醒市民，傷人為嚴重罪行，一經定罪，最高可被判處終身監禁。
The Police arrested one more female suspect in connection with a case of assault in Tuen Mun. The Force is continuing with its active investigation into the case and does not rule out the possibility of making further arrests.
The Police noticed a short video clip circulating online recently, in which a female is seen being attacked in Tuen Mun. The Police initiated an investigation into the case and subsequently arrested a female suspect in the video on 2020-02-25 for “Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm”. The next evening (2020-02-26), the Police arrested another female assailant also captured in the video.
The Police are deeply concerned about the bullying behaviour of juvenile gangs, and would like to remind members of the public that “assault” is a serious crime. Anyone found guilty of the offence is liable to life imprisonment on conviction.

The Police arrested one more female suspect in connection with a case of assault in Tuen Mun. The Force is continuing with its active investigation into the case and does not rule out the possibility of making further arrests.

就早前(2月26日)四宗，包括港鐵站發生的縱火案，警方昨晚（2月29日）以「縱火」罪拘捕一名男子。黃大仙警區 (刑事) 總督察莫子威現向傳媒簡報案情。

昨日(2月29日)凌晨時分，在粉嶺公路發生一宗交通意外，一輛行駛中的士，在路上撞到一塊相信是被人從天橋擲下的大石，因而失控撞上石壆，導致車上乘客受傷。案件列作「交通意外有人受傷」及「刑事毀壞」，由大埔警區刑事調查隊跟進。
據警方記錄，近月在吐露港公路及粉嶺公路發生多宗同類型案件，引致多宗交通意外。警方嚴厲譴責此等罔顧道路使用者安全的不負責任行為，而在高速公路上放置大石，可能會引致嚴重交通意外，造成人命傷亡。

今晚大約六時開始，有示威者在旺角警署外集結，其後佔據彌敦道及太子道西行車綫，嚴重堵塞交通。有示威者用鐳射筆照射警務人員、投擲汽油彈、在馬路上放置雜物及縱火，危害公衆安全。
旺角警署報案室服務暫停，警方呼籲示威者不要阻塞緊急車輛通道，以免影響緊急服務。
警方呼籲，在場人士立刻離開，切勿衝擊警方防線。市民如非必要，切勿前往有關地區。
Since 6pm today, protestors started to gather outside Mong Kok Police station, occupying Nathan Road and Prince Edward Road West, paralysing the traffic. Some protestors pointed laser beams and hurled petrol bombs at Police. They also built barricades and set fire on the roads, posing threat to public safety.
Report Room service of Mong Kok Police station has been suspended. Police warned the protestors not to block the traffic and obstruct emergency services.
Police appeal all to leave the scene immediately and not to charge Police cordon line. Members of the public are advised to avoid travelling to the area concerned.

In the early hours of yesterday (February 29), a traffic accident occurred on Fanling Highway when a 25 kg piece of rock was dropped onto the road from an overpass, and caused a taxi ran into a kerb. Passengers on board the taxi were injured. This case has been classified as "Traffic Accident with Person Injury" and "Criminal Damage", is being followed up by Tai Po District Investigation Team.
According to Police records, several similar cases have occurred along Tolo Highway and Fanling Highway in recent months, resulting in multiple traffic accidents. The Police strongly condemn such irresponsible behaviour that has severely endangered lives of road users. Placing large rocks on highways is a serious crime and should be stopped given its severe consequences in terms of fatalities and casualties.

In the early hours of yesterday (February 29), a traffic accident occurred on Fanling Highway when a 25 kg piece of rock was dropped onto the road from an overpass, and caused a taxi ran into a kerb. 昨日(3月2日)下午，警方在灣仔入境事務大樓外拘捕一名15歲中四男學生，並在其身上搜出伸縮棍、電油、打火機及紗布等。被捕男子將被控「管有任何物品以圖摧毁或損壞財產」。
警方非常關注年輕人違法的案件，擔憂年青人守法意識薄弱，容易被人煽動，作出一些不成熟的決定，斷送前程。我們亦留意到社會上別有用心的人包庇及縱容犯法，甚至提出歪論，美化犯罪行為。
警方呼籲各界多關注年青人，加強年青人守法意識，以免引致法治災難。
Yesterday (2020-03-02) afternoon, the Police arrested a 15 years old Secondary Four student in the vicinity of the Immigration Tower in Wan Chai, and seized various items including an extendible stick, petrol, a lighter and gauze from him. The arrested male will be charged with “Possessing Anything with Intent to Destroy or Damage Property”.
The Police are deeply concerned about the rise in juvenile delinquency. Given the low level of awareness among youngsters in abiding with the law, they can be easily incited into making immature decisions and put their future in jeopardy. It has also come to our attention that some ill-intentioned people in society have been condoning illegal acts and even propagating twist values to downplay the seriousness of criminal acts.
The Police appeal to all sectors of society to pay more attention to youngsters and enhance their law-abiding awareness, in a bid to forestall a huge blow to law and order.

警方非常關注年輕人違法的案件，擔憂年青人守法意識薄弱，容易被人煽動，作出一些不成熟的決定，斷送前程。我們亦留意到社會上別有用心的人包庇及縱容犯法，甚至提出歪論，美化犯罪行為。

昨日（三月二日）凌晨，東九龍總區刑事部展開一項以情報主導的反店舖爆竊行動，拘捕了三名正在深水埗一間食肆進行爆竊的本地男子，並於他們身上搜出多件爆竊工具和少量毒品。連同昨晚的案件在內，三名被捕人涉嫌與至少十三宗自2019年11月17日起發生在九龍區的爆竊及企圖爆竊案，牽涉的雜貨店及食肆共損失接近港幣十萬元。
三名被捕人乃集團主腦及骨幹成員，而警方相信是次行動已成功瓦解該爆竊集團。
警方強調，爆竊屬嚴重的罪行，一經定罪，最高可被判監禁14年。
In the early hours yesterday (2020-03-02), the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East mounted an intelligence-led operation to combat shop burglaries, which led to the arrest of three local males who were burglaring a food shop in Sham Shui Po. The Police also seized various tools and a small amount of drugs on them. The three arrested males were suspected to be connected to at least 13 other cases of burglary and attempted burglary that have taken place in Kowloon since 2019-11-17, including the case last night. The grocery stores and eateries involved have suffered a loss of nearly HKD$100,000 in total.
The three persons arrested were believed to have been the the mastermind and core members of the crime syndicate.
The Police stress that burglary is a very serious crime. Anyone who is convicted of burglary is liable to imprisonment for 14 years.

In the early hours yesterday (2020-03-02), the Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon East mounted an intelligence-led operation to combat shop burglaries, which led to the arrest of three local males who were burglaring a food shop in Sham Shui Po. The Police also seized various tools and a small amount of drugs on them. The three arrested males were suspected to be connected to at least 13 other cases of burglary and attempted burglary that have taken place in Kowloon since 2019-11-17, including the case last night. 別有用心的人於網上發布影片 (顯示日期為2月19日22時45分)，誣捏便衣警員在將軍澳體育館外下車「綁架」一名男子，捏造「手足」突然「被失蹤」及「被自殺」之指控。
事實是兩星期前(即2月19日)， 數十名暴徒在將軍澳寶康路與唐明街交界非法集結、堵路，癱瘓附近交通。警方隨即前往現場進行驅散及拘捕行動。
其間，將軍澳特遣隊人員乘坐私家車到達現場時，約30名暴徒正在逃走，人員立即下車追截，並成功截停一名24歲本地男子，以「非法集結」將其拘捕。該男子現正保釋候查，須於三月下旬向警方報到。
警方重申，便裝警務人員執行職務時，會採取適當行動控制涉案疑人，而作出拘捕時會清楚表明身分，並在情況許可下盡快展示委任證。
警方嚴正指出，別有用心的人發布假消息抹黑警隊。而有關「被失蹤」及「被自殺」的指控實為無稽之談，市民切勿輕信謠言。
Some ill-intentioned people posted a video clip (shown to be filmed at 22:45 on 2020-02-19) onto an online forum, and went on to allege that some plainclothes police officers had alighted from a vehicle outside the Tseung Kwan O Sports Centre and “kidnapped” a man. By fabricating such a narrative, those people accused the Police of making their comrade vanish and killing him.
What had really happened was that two weeks ago (2020-02-19) scores of rioters had blocked traffic at the junction of Po Hong Road and Tong Ming Street in Tseung Kwan O and engaged in an unlawful assembly at that location. The Police immediately rushed to the scene to disperse the crowd and make arrests.
At one point, officers of the Tseung Kwan O Task Force arrived by car, and pursued about 30 rioters that were fleeing the scene. The officers successfully intercepted a 24-year-old local male and arrested him for “Unlawful Assembly”. The man is currently released on bail pending further investigation and is required to report back to the Police later this month.
The Police reiterate that plainclothes officers will adopt appropriate measures to subdue suspects when carrying out their duties. Meanwhile, when the officers make arrests, they will declare their identities and also produce their warrant cards as soon as the situation allows.
The Force categorically points out that there have been rumourmongers spreading bogus information, with the aim to smear the Police. The accusation that someone was killed or made to vanish by the Police is preposterous, and members of the public should never take rumours at face value.
