Telegram is all about privacy and security, and it isn't beholden to larger companies like Facebook. Possibly the biggest disadvantage Telegram has over more popular messages is simply that: popularity. Despite its hundreds of millions of fans, Telegram is still leagues behind WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and WeChat in active monthly users. You can access your data from any of your devices anytime without having to rely on third-party backups.
