Scheduled and Silent messages Now tap on Notifications and mute the contact for either a custom period of time or forever. I generally leave it for forever. To mute a chat in Telegram, head over to the chat in question. Next, tap the name at the top and then hit the mute button.

In Telegram, you can use hashtags in your Channels and Groups. When you use a hashtag in a message, that word becomes clickable. And, channel or group users able to click the hashtag to get instant search results from their Telegram messages. On Android, simply slide out the left menu and choose New Secret Chat to start a new one. On iPhone, open a chat, tap the contact's name at the top, choose More, and then hit Start Secret Chat. If you do not want this to happen and want Telegram to keep running in the background to send you notifications in real-time, you can head over to Settings/ Notifications and Sounds/ Keep Alive Service and turn it on. System Default (Android) or System (iOS): Matches the theme to your operating system's current mode. This update brings improved chat previews on par with iOS. Now you can scroll through them to view the whole chat without marking it as read. New buttons have been added to let you mark the chat as read, mute it, pin it or delete it. This update is being rolled out gradually. If your app is not offering you to update, please wait – the new version will become available soon. To create your own theme, tap the three-dot button (Android) or go to Chat Themes (iOS) and choose Create new theme. Here, you can create your own look if you don't like any of the default options.
