Today is but a nightmare to those who lived the dream.

The beautiful building on the left was the Central Telegraph Office in London, photographed in 1935. This building, which opened in 1874, was closed in 1962 and, in an act of architectural terrorism, was demolished in 1967. Can you imagine how spectacular London would be if the whole place looked like the image on the left instead of the sci-fi film sets replacing it? I'd love to have been at the meeting to see who suggested and agreed upon this building, or many others like it being demolished. #RIP

I think it's only fitting that I procure myself a silk smoking suit identical to this fine example from 1880s England.

This one cuts deep. My beloved grandparents, whom I cherished deeply, and my wonderful great Aunt and Uncle lived in Walthamstow agter moving in from the East-end. For this reason, I spent many years in estates and in gardens just like this. This image is of people who'd have more than likely known my departed loved ones. (Especially since they were so incredibly social and well known). It was taken on Elphinstone Road, Walthamstow, London, in the 1960s. How I miss them, and the times we had. β³οΈπŸ’”

This is a true moment caught in time. These men have a few drinks at what was called the "Christmas club" in 1923. A Christmas club was where customers paid a small amount each week to a pub so that during Christmas time they could gather and have Turkey, ham leg or other meat for their Christmas meal.

A good way to tell if someone is selfish or selfless is to observe them after an argument. An empathetic person will often feel bad for upsetting someone even when they had reason to do so. While a narcissist will show utter disrespect and feel no guilt what so ever.

So Dear to My Heart was a beautiful Christmas animation written by Irving Taylor and Ticker Freeman and sung by John Beal in 1948. During the days that Walt Disney still made content that appealed to our better nature and to a world worth living in. πŸŽ„πŸ’”β³οΈ

The greatest Sainsbury's advert ever made depicting the legendary football games between British and German soldiers during the unofficial Christmas Truce of 1914 (WW1). This touching and well-made scene is a vivid reminder that the men fighting atrocious, uneccessery battles were never enemies, but European relatives who were forced into a family dispute they'd not started. This video is well worth a watch and a share as it truly encompasses the waste of human life, which society seems to have learnt nothing from. Never forget that the price for refusing to fight was to be shot and that they all deserved far better. πŸŽ„βš½οΈβ³οΈ

A touching tour of the second largest Isle of Scilly, Tresco which is known for its subtropical Abbey Garden, beautiful beaches, and an array of beautiful scenes in the quaint and wholesome 1960s.
