A special glass cell wasn't built for child abusers or mass murderers, but for Robert Maudsley, who executed child predators in prison. He has been confined there for over 45 years, making him the world’s most isolated prisoner.

Depressingly, my happy place is a few decades before I was even born.

"Look at what they've done to it now." In this episode of Only Fools and Horses, Uncle Albert stands at the Shadwell Basin (East London) and reflects upon the erasure of all he knew and loved. This scene cuts me to my core. This is exactly how I feel when I stand there, many other places in London, and, of course, Britain overall. Each generation seems to slip further from familiarity, normality, and even morality. Until, one day, there will be nothing left to recognise and no one left to recognise anything even if there was. Moments before this scene, Rodney had walked out of the Prospect of Whitby pub in Wapping, which is a few yards away. I could write about this scene all day, but in the end, it speaks for itself. "They were rough people. They were good people" 💔⏳️

How beautiful it would be to have seen the nightlight of 30s London. Especially if the war that never needed to take place, never took place.

At least prisoners who've done something bad get to spend time with others. All this poor creature did was earn some sickos a few pound note just to rot like a mass murderer on a segregation unit.
