The Monk Beneath The Coopers Arms - #Rochester, #Kent 🍻

This 16th century pub had an older history to it seems. Within it's walls are comforting scenes and macabre stories, join us as we pay it a visit.

This fascinating specimen lives at #StPancras 'Old' Church, #London#NW1. It's unique character and awe inspiring image grabbed my attention and left me in a staring trance.

Tanner's Close, Hare's House (demolished 1902)
Where Burke and Hare kept their murdered and stolen bodies after targeting the pubs within #Edinburgh's #GrassMarket and it's surrounding Kirks (graveyards)

(Demolished 1902)

A photograph of Tanner's Close, West Port, Edinburgh, showing stone steps accessed by an iron gate. There are iron railings. A gas lamp is attached to the wall of a building.
Waking up, only to realise, she wasn't real.

Pubs. Serving us at our best, and our worst throughout the centuries. 🍻
This painting by Charles William Wyllie depicts the Angel pub in #Rotherhithe, South #London (c.1887) [101 #Bermondsey Wall E, #London #SE16]. Like many riverside pubs, it was a den of cut-throats & press gangs. It sits on what was once the manor house of King Edward III (1300s).
