To this day, despite having lived in and around a city my whole life, I honestly don't think I've met more than a couple of unhappy idiots. The saying "ignorance is bliss" has far more credibility in the real world than most people tend to fathom.

What they miss by advocating that youngsters are forced into the army is that it will allow the youth to mentally connect with those from the world wars who also didn't want to go. Today's kids think the average Englishman skipped all the way to the battlefield, but now, they'll slowly see that they're living a lie, just as our ancestors where then.

The price of "desertion" during #WW1/#WW2, was death. If you refused to risk a brutal death or commit a grizzly murder against you're own Europen cousins, you'd be killed, by your own state. Next remembrance day, ask yourself what we gained from a century of forced annihilation.
