🔆Igla-S air defence system
✅Russia recently signed a contract to supply Igla-S hand-held anti-aircraft missiles to India and has allowed the production of the Igla under license.
✅It is a man-portable air defence system (MANPADS) developed by Russia.
✅It is known in the West as SA-24 Grinch.
✅It entered service with the Russian Army in 2004.
✅It can be fired by an individual or crew to bring down an enemy aircraft.
✅It has the capability of bringing down low-flying aircraft. It can also identify and neutralise air targets, such as cruise missiles and drones.
✅It has an effective range upto 6 km.
✅The limiting altitude of effective target destruction for the "Igla-S" complex is 3.5 km.

🔆Trade war between US and China
The fresh trade war between the United States and China is raising global concerns as experts warn that US policies could lead to dumping of Chinese goods in other markets, including India.
The US administration on Tuesday announced a series of proposed tariff increases on imports from China including on electric vehicles (EVs), medical products, lithium ion batteries, semiconductors, solar cells, aluminum, and steel.
“Both the USA and the EU are cutting imports of electric vehicles from China. The raising of tariffs on EVs, batteries and many other new technology items by the US may push China to dump these products in other markets including India,” GTRI said.

The era when the United States dominated global affairs unchallenged seems to be coming to an end.
Subramaniam Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs, expressed in an interview with the PTI agency that the United States, already affected by the de-dollarization movement led by BRICS, has changed its approach to global leadership.
According to him, Washington has reduced its attempts to control every international event, opting now for more targeted and responsible participation.
