One of the worst parts about messaging apps is that anyone can add you to random groups without your active permission. However, the good part is that Telegram gives you an option to disable it altogether. You can change the desired settings from Settings menu -> Privacy and Security -> Groups -> My Contacts and then select all the Telegram users to βNever Allowβ. Telegram Sending Options Because Telegram lets you interact with people even if you aren't in each other's contacts, you may wish to make your account more private. To change privacy options, head to Settings > Privacy and Security. Here, you can change who can see your phone number, active status, and more. Similar options are available for sharing your phone number and profile photo. You can also select who can add a link to your account when forwarding messages, who can call you, and who can add you in groups. When multiple users share their live location within a group, theyβre displayed on an interactive map. To use this feature, choose βlocationβ from the attachment menu and tap on βShare my location forβ¦β
Mute Specific Telegram Chats Auto-download and Auto-play Media This is a handy feature for users who want to save disk space. To access it, go to the βSettingsβ, βData and Storageβ, and then tap βStorage Usageβ. You will find four options: keep media on your device for three days, one week, one month, or forever. To create a username, go to βSettingsβ and tap βUsernameβ under the account section. There is also a βBioβ option, where you can add a few lines about yourself. Anyone who opens your profile will see this text.
To do this, long-press on a picture you have sent. Choose the βEditβ button on the top, just like youβd edit a text message once you have sent it. Now, you will get an in-built photo editor where you can add filters, draw or crop images. Alternatively, you can even replace the picture and send another one in its place. Since Telegram stores chats and files on a remote server instead of your device, you can also access everything (except secret chats) from the web. Access it via the web portal or any of several Chrome extensions.
