There are times when we know our close ones studying, sleeping, or attending meetings, but we want to send some messages without disturbing them. Well, there is a feature called Silent Messages on Telegram. Basically, you can send messages and it will not make any sound or vibration even if the recipient has not turned on DND. Thatâs great, right? So to use this feature, type out your message and then tap and hold the âsendâ button. Here, choose âSend without soundâ and you are done. To enable it, go to âSettingsâ, âData and Storageâ, and turn off automatic download âwhen using mobile dataâ and âwhen roamingâ. You will also see options to turn off autoplay âGIFsâ and Videosâ. If youâre using Telegram with the calls, secret chats feature, which provides end-to-end encryption for your messages, You can also be locking down the app itself with a passcode, PIN, or password automatically.
If you're part of many Telegram chatsâmaybe you joined too many of the best Telegram channelsâthey can quickly become annoying. When this happens, you can always mute a chat without leaving it. This way, you can check it on your own terms instead of getting a ping for every new message. Save for Notifications This is useful when you are on your way to a meeting or trying to coordinate with friends at a large event. Rather than sending static locations every minute, you can share your live location with your friend circle for 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours. Of course, you can stop sharing at any time. One of the worst parts about messaging apps is that anyone can add you to random groups without your active permission. However, the good part is that Telegram gives you an option to disable it altogether. You can change the desired settings from Settings menu -> Privacy and Security -> Groups -> My Contacts and then select all the Telegram users to âNever Allowâ. I canât tell you how much I love this Telegram trick.
Telegram allows users to locate contacts nearby you, should they choose to be discovered. This allows you to quickly add someone close to you on Telegram without going through the hassle of first noting their number and saving the contact manually. Users can also use this feature to find and create groups of nearby users. To do this, long-press on a picture you have sent. Choose the âEditâ button on the top, just like youâd edit a text message once you have sent it. Now, you will get an in-built photo editor where you can add filters, draw or crop images. Alternatively, you can even replace the picture and send another one in its place. Public groups can now enable join requests â allowing group admins to review new members before approving them to write in the chat. Users who open the group can tap Request to Join, adding their request to a list that only admins can access. As Telegram keeps growing at rocket speed, many users have expressed their will to support our team. Today we're launching Premium Telegram Premium â a subscription that lets you support Telegram's continued development and gives you access to exclusive additional features.
