Enable Auto-Night Mode If you are using Telegram on your PC, Laptop, or another device, your secret chat is only visible to your device that you started it. Another useful feature is âsend without soundâ. It is rather self-explanatory: you can message friends freely when you know they are attending an important meeting, studying, or sleeping. Recipients will get a notification as usual, but their device wonât make sound, even if it is in general mode.
To do this, head over to Telegramâs settings by sliding over the hamburger menu from the left of the app. Here, choose âSettingsâ and then click on âChat Settingsâ. In this menu, you will see a number of themes and colour options to choose from. Further, you can also change the curve on message boxes and font size. If you donât want messages in your secret chats to hang around forever, Telegram lets you set self-destruct timers to permanently remove them. After a message is received, it remains in the chat for a predetermined period â you can choose times between one second and one week â before disappearing. This is a handy feature for users who want to save disk space. To access it, go to the âSettingsâ, âData and Storageâ, and then tap âStorage Usageâ. You will find four options: keep media on your device for three days, one week, one month, or forever. Customize Telegram App Icons

Turn on Secret Chat On WhatsApp and other messaging apps, you can send uncompressed media by changing the media extension to something like PDF or EXE. However, on Telegram, you donât need to take this hacky route for sending uncompressed media files. Just select your media and tap on the 3-dot menu. After that, choose âSend without compressionâ and that is it. How awesome is that? This single Telegram trick has saved me so much headache when sharing photos.
