What do you know about the Malankara Varghese case?

Malankara Varghese was some liquor abkari from Orthodox Sabha. He was killed in early 2000s. Some Jacobite Sabha priest was arrested. Investigation was tampered and obstructed.

Rumour was the murder was retaliation for Malankara Varghese alleged connection some Jacobite youth murders. Higher church officials and politicians might be involved in the rivalry.

Lot of other high profile abkari murders in Kerala, like KG Munna and Mithun Mohan.

A Northie who wants to settle permanently in Kochi- Need help

I am considering a permanent settlement to Kochi, specifically Kakkanad ( I will be 49 in few months). However, I have heard some concerning things and am starting to question my decision. Although I am taking Malayalam lessons and love Malayalam cinema (Know how to tie mundu and follow customs a lot), I still have doubts. I need help regarding the following matters:

1. A friend told me that you cannot unload your household goods in Kochi without paying local unions. Even if you register with the local labor office and show them the registration letter, they are unlikely to cooperate. Is this true? How should I prepare for this situation?
2. I have also heard that labor costs for plumbing, electrical work, etc., are very high in Kerala. While I don't mind paying extra for quality work, what are the typical costs for these services in Kochi?
3. Friends from Kerala have mentioned that shops and establishments in Kochi close very early and open late in the morning. Is this true? What should I expect in case of an emergency?
4. Some friends who are working in a school (females) told me that it is not very safe in Kerala for woman. Though I doubt their thoughts because I have heard otherwise. I also believe that every city has some safety guidelines specially for woman. However what is the real situation in Kerala ?
5. I am buying a house in Kochi but heard that people are either very reserved or do not help others. This view again comes from keralite friends. However I was able to get very good help in Kollur (Not in Kerala) from a keralite (stranger). Again in train I made friends with a Keralite family (Though the family head worked in North). How is the general attitude of Keralites towards others ? Is it a personal perspective or an actual issue.
6. I have also heard that business is next to Impossible in Kerala (This was told in clear terms from a person living in Pallkad). He was totally affirmative regarding this matter, that labor unions will not allow any business in kerala easily.
7. What will happen when you buy a house ? Will the local corporator etc. or some Parshad person will come for "Vasuli" or tax etc ?
8. I have a family with a daughter and I love kerala very much. Do not mistake me to be a hater. I want to live in kerala. My work is 100% online with no interference and no establishment in open. So I hope this will be a blessings.
9. Again the above can be my wrong perspective, so pardon me (Brothers from Kerala) if I am wrong.

Your insights on these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Why is islamism fundamentalism & extremism (not islam. But the right wing of islam. Please don't confuse both as same. They are different from each other) generally not criticised, condemned & trolled unlike that of hindutva in kerala?

Curious to know the reasons. Pls don't spread hate here. This post has no ulterior intentions. Regardless of some negatives, our kerala is the most secular & harmonious state in india after all

Guys, how to go ahead with wearing clothes of my choice in Kerala as a woman?

Hlo, 21 F, pursuing graduation in Delhi, planning to come back to Kerala for few months.

I don't want to compromise on wearing clothes of my choice due to multiple reasons (why should I, at the first place).

Parents are somewhat okay with it, but other than that, ANY TIPS ON HOW TO DEAL WITH NEGATIVITY?
