idk how to find malayali friends in bangalore :(
Please feel free to delete if this is irrelevant, but hi guys - I recently moved to bangalore for my first job and it's been great. I studied outside of kerala and most of my college friends are here so it's a lot of fun. I can't help but feel like I'm missing that sincere, chali type friendship pole that has the closeness I only feel with my fellow mallus. I go back home whenever possible for this reason. I see so many mallus here but I have no idea how to approach them and make friends!! I want friends I can go see malayalam movies with, people who will appreciate our food as much as I do, or even just to speak in malayalam with ;_; any of you guys in the same situation?

Rant from an NRI - Confronting folks in Kerala
So a little about myself: I was born and raised in Dubai until the age of 20. I can pretty much speak Malayalam fluently, but at times the NRI accent slips in (given certain words and sentences). I grew up with privilege and always acknowledged it. My parents taught my brother and I to be humble and grateful for everything we have had since childhood. They came from humble beginnings as well. Moreover, as I grew older, I became less materialistic and didn’t seem to enjoy all the flashy stuff in Dubai anyway. I currently reside in Bangalore.
Every year, we used to visit Kerala to meet relatives for a month or two, just like any other NRI. I always noticed my cousins and other older relatives used to keep picking on my NRI identity. I never used to bring up anything about Dubai unless asked about school, friends or anything else. In fact, I used to always look forward to thattukada food and the bumpy KSRTC bus rides. They have this preconceived notion that all NRIs are spoiled brats, haven’t experienced the hardships of life, don’t know what struggle is, are not street-smart, etc. I’m also an ambivert, so I like my space and privacy, which comes across as jaada. It used to bug me that they used the NRI card in situations when I was clueless in Kerala. In my defense, I only used to visit Kerala once a year, so I wouldn't know the ins and outs of living there physically. It’s almost as if I was supposed to know every shop, bus timings, and every turn in highways right as I came out of the womb on virtue of being a malayali. When they visited Dubai, they’d say please show us around or else we’d get lost. Not once did I say go and figure it out on your own as I am aware they are in a place that they are not familiar with. It’s not fair for them to think someone raised outside Kerala is expected to know EVERYTHING about living there, history, the cultural nuances and then proceed to pick on that with a superiority complex. It’s like a “we are more malayali than you so we are smarter” narrative that they keep pushing on me. I don’t understand where this complexity comes from. I just wished they understood no one has an easy life and everyone faces struggles in different ways. I always ignored this so I still feel some sort of distance from them. Should I confront them about this?

Hello everyone, does anyone know the original artist of this song? I've heard many different things. Some say it's a translation of a Bob Marley song, while others mention it was recorded by 'Achayan Mallu Rap.' I've also heard that the artist is no longer alive. Does anyone have any idea?

Why don't out nation have mercy killing so many old fellows are bed ridden unable to take care of themselves. When it comes to me I don't want that life and would like to end the trauma and don't want to be a burden.

Applying for college abroad with the help of an agent
Tl/dr- stay away from agents while applying for courses abroad. Dyor.
Hello
I am a malayalee living abroad since 2009. I moved abroad for my master studies. The reason I moved abroad is obvious- not repeating it. I would encourage anyone considering it- but be mindful of how you go about it.
Life abroad is good- if you have a nice white collar job. Else it's a struggle. Period. Iv seen once a batch load of students in the flight I was in sent by a particular agent. They had very little idea about the college and everything. Sure a few will fig out the rest will struggle. Iv also been involved in helping (connect them with the local consulate for further formalities) of people who were brought in from neighbouring countries (they had admission to courses in neighbouring countries and were working below the table in a restaurant here). Furthermore folks thinking they are applying for masters courses only to figure out that these are just certification courses and so on.
My advice to the ones who are reading this post-
While applying take the time and effort to apply urself. Familiarise yourself with the process and everything. You will have to do a lot more of it while you are abroad- start with application
Stay away from these agents. They know nothing. I wanted to find out and called a very popular agent in kochi when I was there during last vacation. Just timepass call. The info tha lady gave! Can't be further from reality. Just stay away.

Since the notion is that govt employees doesn't work hard, the nurses in govt ayurvdic hospital in thrissur is a contrary. Incredibly hardworking women.
My mother is admitted for her back and we were a little skeptical about govt hospital. Since the doctor has made her feel so much better we thought about giving it a try.
It was mostly pleasent. The room is clean, the treatment is good. And the women who work here, they are running around trying to get to everyone.
And the doctor is wonderful too.
Wonder is any of you guys felt it in other sections of the govt.
