Will the backwaters of Kerala sink??

I have ancestral land with an old house in the backwater region of Kumarakom, and I’m considering renovating it. With the rising concerns of climate change and sea-level rise, does anyone have insights on how the backwater regions of Kerala, specifically Kumarakom, might be affected in the future? Is it a wise investment to renovate the house, or should I be concerned about potential flooding or submersion risks in the coming decades? Any expert opinions or local knowledge would be greatly appreciated! Our property is submerged in water once or twice every year during the heavy monsoon, but water rarely gets inside of the house. Our house got flooded inside during the 2018 flood but only till below the knee.
