NATIONAL STRIKE (10/28 3:00 P.M.)

Hrodna Azot
About 20 people have publicly declared a strike. One of the key production lines is under threat of a complete stoppage. The management signed an order firing 12 employees, those who work are promised double wages. The HR department is looking for strikebreakers: "the management called the retired workers who used to work at this department. "The day shift held a meeting discussing whether to continue the strike or no. They voted to continue." As a show of solidarity with the Hrodna Azot employees, the Cyber Partisans hacktivist group attacked the factory's websites and “sent them on strike.”

Minsk Electro-Technical Plant
Two critical departments - #16 and #6 - are on strike. If the work in these departments stops, the whole 3000-people strong factory has to stop.

Atlant
A worker climbed the factory pipe. He waved a White-red-white flag up there and recorded a video address to Lukashenka: "Leave now before it's too late." He was later detained.

Hrodna Khimvolokno
One of the production lines stopped because there weren't enough people to work. Many employees called in sick.

“Integra” confectionary factory temporarily stopped working. Employees of MTS (cell phone operator) were detained during a solidarity demonstration. The Minister of Communications is expected to visit the company at 3 PM.

People from different cities and districts of Minsk held multiple local solidarity demonstrations.

Universities
Students keep holding sit-ins and solidarity demonstrations. Belarusian National Technical University expelled all the students detained during the march on Monday. The management has done it via backdating. Belarusian State Technological University issued an order to divert the political activity among the students to a "constructive direction." School teachers around Belarus are gathering signatures in support of the main demands of the peaceful protest.
According to documents obtained by TUT.BY, for the second day straight there are reports of wires on the railways. Unknown people put wires between the rails to force automatic systems to make false reports. Wires placed between the rails force the automatic systems to report the railway being occupied despite it being free.

Anonymous readers sent TUT.BY an official note on the state of safety and technical conditions on the Belarusian railways for October 27 and 28. The authenticity of the document can't be verified. However, according to it, there were at least 11 cases of unknown people placing wires in between the rails at multiple sections of the railways. The report also mentions two found caches of wires and a suspicious box with wires and lightbulbs. These incidents have been reported in Minsk, Brest, and Mogilev regions.
Joe Biden, the US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party called for the international community to expand and strengthen the sanctions against Lukashenko and his cohorts.

“The international community should significantly expand its sanctions on Lukashenko’s henchmen and freeze the offshore accounts where they keep their stolen wealth.”

Biden also promised to help develop a support plan for the sovereign democratic Belarus together with the European partners and allies of the US - if he is elected president.
“There is a war going on. And we are still making up our minds? I tell this to every regional policeman that his life and happiness of his family depends on how fast you can pull out a weapon.” Yuri Karaev, Minister of Internal Affairs
Pavel Latushka, member of the Coordination Council Presidium, together with the representatives of Belarusian democratic forces, announce the creation of the People's Anti-crisis Department (PAD).

While the Council was created to conduct negotiations, the PAD would work towards achieving goals - beginning of the negotiations and ensuring stability in the country during the transfer of power to the democratic forces. The organ would also address issues that the country would face after the ex-president leaves and before the new government is formed.

“Belarusians need actions to deal with the crisis. Our team will help the National leader and Coordination Council by making specific suggestions on removing the causes of crisis, ensuring that the negotiations begin, fixing the economy, restoring the rule of law, and other matters. To do so we are forming a team of specialists responsible for development and execution of these plans,” Latushka said.

“NO ONE FIRES DOCTORS IF THEIR COLLEAGUES SHOW SOLIDARITY”

Roma Diakoff, Belarusian Facebook celebrity, told this story in his FB post.

“Yesterday the police arrested Ania Suschinskaya, my wonderful classmate and an amazing anesthesiologist. She was standing in the solidarity chain in support of the cardiologists. She was taken to the Borovlyany police precinct, processed, and released the same evening.

In the morning the head doctor of the Minsk Regional Hospital (where she works) summoned her and said that she will inevitably be fired (as Lukashenka spoke about this yesterday). An hour later, all the doctors from the hospital got together and said: "If you touch Anyas (there were two of them arrested, both were anesthesiologists) we will quit as well. You'll have to sew arms and legs back to the patients on your own."

The statement was finished with a round of applause. The pro-regime head doctor got the hint and claimed he was misunderstood. And Anya kept her job.

Solidarity is stronger than idiocy, USSR-style rigidity, cowardice, and lies. This is the main lessons for all Belarusians.

Doctors - you are my personal heroes of the year.”
STUDENTS BECOME THE MOST NOTABLE PARTICIPANTS OF NATIONWIDE STRIKE

Demonstrations at the universities, along with workers' strikes have been the main driver behind the nationwide strike. Students clashed with the pro-regime professors and showed remarkable unity in fighting for their rights. The regime has taken notice.

According to our sources, Belarusian universities will expel from 66 to 76. The numbers aren't yet final, as some universities are still to prepare the expulsion lists.

BSUIR
The students continued their protest. IT-professionals from the High-Tech Park supported them by bringing 60 pizzas for the strikers.

BSU
Applied Mathematics department held a sit-in.

BSTU, BNTU
Police officers reported entering the university buildings.

MSLU
Striking professors and students “occupied” the meeting hall to discuss the strategy and tactics of their further activities.

BSMU
After the protests on Monday and Tuesday, the rector signed an order expelling 18 students. Other students actively protested this. Students' parents and like-minded citizens joined the demonstration. Around 6 PM, riot cops came and started grabbing people near the university. The protesters ran away.
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya addressed Belarusian students:

“I am proud of our young generation - the students have been supporting the strike for three days already. BSUIR, MSLU, BSMU, BSAA, BSUCA, BrSTU, BSU, BSTU, MILSR, BSEU, BSTU - the country is awed by your resilience!

The regime is hiding from you when the rector locks his door, when you are getting expelled and criminally prosecuted, when the professors who support you get fired, and when the demonstrations at the universities are getting dispersed.

Remember: the solidarity funds are ready to support everyone who suffered for their beliefs. Anyone who gets expelled will be able to continue their education either in-class or remotely.”
Investigation of the arson of the office at the traffic police building in Mazyr will be provided by the KGB for Gomel region. The incident was qualified as an act of terrorism.
