Hello everyone!

Recently we have been reported that there are permanent force closures when enabling immersive mode in latest 7.2.3 release. This issues comes from a Crowdin error, where it should have detected one string as non translatable but instead allowed the translators to edit it, which made some translators to get confused and it broke the build.

A fix is already done and will be pushed shortly to our gerrit and Github. While that we want to apologize for that issue and we will be bringing possibly a hot fix update in the next days to solve those issues. As of now, we do recommend that if any users have or had this issue to use English language or not to use immersive mode if they want to stay on the language they are.

No actions are required from translators, Crowdin has been updated and modified to prevent the issue again.

The languages which have this Immersive Mode FC are:

French
Hindi
Italian
Norwegian
Portuguese
Russian
Swedish
Chinese Simplified
Chinese Traditional

Again, we suggest that if you are running any Paranoid Android 7.2.3 in any of these languages to not try enabling immersive mode, or if PIE wants to be used to switch to English or other language which isn´t included in the above list. Flashing 7.2.1 would be required for disabling immersive mode and flashing 7.2.3 over it in case you enable this option been in a language which is on the list.

We apologize for the issues, we couldn´t notice properly when we tested release builds.
Substratum

We are proud to announce that we have teamed up with the guys at Substratum. We have a few things planned with them that we hope will be beneficial to all our users.

Our main goal is to bring a more seamless theming experience to AOSPA which will allow you to customise the look and feel of your device easily without going through a plethora of menus and options. With our reputation of wanting to release something that is well polished and to a professional standard, we believe that this partnership will provide our users with what they know and trust.

We’re planning to develop an entirely new theming section with the great UI/UX you can come to expect for PA.

Space Oddity

We are now reaching our server capacity. While we are not big fans of monetization and/or asking for donations, but with the all the device support requests and our desire to work on more and more devices, we are having to look at ways to be able to provide continued support.

Currently, we are looking to expand our infrastructure. To do this, we have no other choice but to accept donations/infrastructure contributions.

If you think this is something you could help us with, please contact us by replying below and we’ll reach out to you personally. You can send us a message too if you happen to know anyone on the team.

Sources

Kernel and most platform sources are already online. The rest of platform and the device specific sources will go online within a week from now.

Future

We are currently considering this as our last major update for Nougat and we are shifting our focus to Android Oreo now. If we happen to work on any critical bugs, you can expect to see more updates. Otherwise, we think we’re solid!

Hello everyone!

All the Paranoid Android 7.3.0 release strings have been uploaded to Crowdin(our translation tool/website). This also includes the option to translate Paranoid Android to three new languages, which are Hebrew, Serbian(Cyrillic) and Korean.

These new strings lets you translate new Launcher3 features as well as our new Paranoid Camera.

Please translators and contributors of this project, check your Crowdin inbox for these new strings as well as register and help us if you are a new translator.

Times Like These

Hi folks, today we're bringing you our final Nougat Release of Paranoid Android 7.3.1.

We have been working on improving our new features from 7.3.0 and almost all of the bugs reported have been fixed. We're confident that this is a very stable release and are happy to push this as our final build. This will allow us to focus solely on Oreo and stabilising our infrastructure.

New wave of translations

As this is our last Nougat release, we are adding the final translations from Crowdin. In Oreo, we will also be including support for more languages.

Global Changes

With 7.3.1, we have several changes that impact all of our devices. The majority of these are improvements to Paranoid Camera, which launched in our last release. We have also implemented the required patches for the recent KRACK Vulnerability.

Add Anti-Shake mode to Paranoid Camera
Fix compatibility issues with third-party camera apps
Fix front-facing camera crashes in Paranoid Camera
KRACK Vulnerability patches
Various improvements to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
Performance and efficiency improvements for Pocket Lock
Launcher improvements and fixes
Various performance and battery improvements
Other minor improvements and fixes
Final update for translations

Funding

In our last release, we mentioned that we are currently struggling to keep up with our outlay for infrastructure and we are looking to you, our users and fans for help.

We are looking for funding to:
Keep our servers up and running.
Have servers available for building and testing of our builds.
Get new devices for development.
