This upgrade significantly boosts Moonbeam’s throughput capacity, allowing the network to handle even more on-chain activity, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience for all users and developers.

The reduction in block time from 12 seconds to 6 seconds means more transactions can be processed in a shorter amount of time, making our network more robust and capable of handling higher traffic volumes.

This improved responsiveness unlocks new use cases that require faster confirmation times, such as payments and trading. Developers can now create applications needing rapid transaction finality, opening the door for innovative decentralized applications (dApps) that were previously limited by longer block times.
