Proposal to Update Our Token Name in Moonbeam Network
Good Morning Moonbeam Community! ☀️
We have a straightforward proposal from Yuzhu of the Acala team on Moonriver. Here’s the simplified summary:
Proposal Summary:
Objective: We want to update the name of a token we use in our network.
Changes Proposed:
🔄 Change the name and symbol of the token currently called "aUSD" to a new name: "aSEED". After this change, your Wallets and Explorers will show this token as "aSEED" instead of "aUSD".
Why is this happening?
🗺 Acala has introduced a new roadmap and product plan, known as the Exodus Plan.
🌱 As part of this plan, Acala is changing the name of its token from "aUSD" to "aSEED".
✅ This change has already happened in Acala’s system at a 1:1 ratio, meaning 1 aUSD has been converted to 1 aSEED.
🤝 This proposal is to make sure we, the Moonbeam community, update our system to match this change uniformly.
Vote here!

🚀 Moonbeam Routed Liquidity is all systems go, enabling the flow of billions in Wormhole liquidity into Polkadot! We're excited to announce the launch of MRL & give parachains access to external assets & users, starting with HydraDX!
Until today, there was no easy way for parachains on Polkadot to tap into assets and users in other ecosystems without having their own independent integrations with bridge providers. Now, HydraDX users can bring in crypto liquidity from ecosystems like Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, or Avalanche (without needing to create a Moonbeam account or interact with Moonbeam directly) through a simple interface provided by Carrier, a powerful token and NFT cross-chain bridge for Web3 natives. And it doesn’t stop there. Any parachain can now access bridge liquidity through a cross-chain (XCM) connection with Moonbeam.
For anyone who doesn't already know, Moonbeam Routed Liquidity is a one-click feature for summoning bridge assets from anywhere in Polkadot and is made possible by the general message passing (GMP) precompile, implemented in a recent runtime upgrade & other interoperable capabilities already available on Moonbeam. It works the other way, too: with this launch, many parachains are able to bring their native tokens to Ethereum-based exchanges for the first time. Wormhole is the first to support MRL, with more bridging providers to follow.
For ALL the details, read the announcement: https://moonbeam.network/announcements/moonbeam-unlocks-billions-wormhole-liquidity-solving-fragmentation-polkadot-ecosystem/
🛠️ Developers, if you want to enable MRL from your parachain, you’ll need to connect to Moonbeam via XCM and enable remote transactions. Reach out to the Moonbeam development team to get started: https://moonbeam.network/contact/

Hello Moonbeam Community! 👋
We have a proposal that aims to make our network more inclusive and efficient. Here’s the simplified summary:
Proposal Summary:
• Objective: Increase the number of active collators (block assemblers) in our network from 72 to 76. This includes adding an additional Orbitor node (a special type of collator).
• Why: This change is proposed to help relieve pressure on the current set of active collators and make room for new participants.
What Does This Mean? (Explained with Examples)
• Collators are like the network's record-keepers. They help facilitate the validations of transactions and create new blocks in the blockchain.
• Example 1: Think of collators as cashiers in a supermarket. Only a certain number of cashiers (collators) can be active at a time. Right now, we have room for 72 cashiers, but we have more who want to help. This proposal is like opening 4 more cashier lanes.
Why is this Important?
🤝More collators mean more people can participate in running and securing our network.
🎁It helps to avoid situations where community members (delegators) miss out on rewards because their chosen collator is not in the active set.
🌐It’s a step towards making the network more open and accessible, especially for smaller participants.
Considerations:
• While this allows more participants, it will slightly reduce the rewards by a small amount to each collator and their delegators receive, as the rewards are now shared among more participants.
• The community is encouraged to discuss and decide the exact number of additional collators and whether more Orbitor nodes should be included.
What’s Next?
📢We want the community to consider this proposal and decide the best course of action. Your input is valuable! - Vote here today!

GM!
We are aware of the concerns and uncertainties resulting from the Multichain incident in July. We’ve been engaged from the beginning; assessing impact, working to mitigate risk, and planning next steps. We will cover that in a moment but first and foremost we want to express our empathy for those who have been affected.
With regards to impact, multichain was not a major bridge for Moonbeam. Therefore Moonbeam did not experience a significant impact. While Moonbeam avoided serious damage, we recognize the interconnected nature of the decentralized ecosystem and the ripple effects that such incidents have on our community members. Multichain was the primary bridge for Moonriver for Ethereum Mainnet assets and approximately $6.8M USD was transferred to another address. While the DAI and WBTC have since been transferred elsewhere, the majority of the assets have not moved since. It is our understanding that USDT and USDC assets have been frozen.
We have been gathering information and collaborating with relevant entities to better understand the situation over the past month and a half. Our primary goal has been to ensure that our platform remains secure and that our community is equipped with accurate information.
For those affected, we encourage you to stay vigilant, double-check information sources, and avoid making hasty decisions based on rumors or unverified news. While we navigate this situation, please know that your concerns are being heard, and we are doing our utmost to address them in the best possible manner. Our primary focus at this time is partnering with a new bridge for Moonriver assets. We will provide more information to the community as it becomes available.
Your trust is invaluable to us, and we are here to support you every step of the way. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. We remain committed to open dialogue and transparency with our community. Your insights, feedback, and perspectives are invaluable to us, and we welcome any discussions or suggestions you may have.

To our valued Moonbeam community and stakeholders,
We want to start by making one thing unequivocally clear: The Moonbeam Foundation does not, has not, and will never participate in the voting of the ecosystem grant referenda. This principle underscores the commitment to decentralization and a community-driven decision-making process.
Addressing some recent concerns about proxy votes:
- The proxies in question are custodial only and are never used for voting with the proxied funds.
In a decentralized ecosystem, every participant has the freedom to express their voice through voting. It’s essential to remember that the foundation neither endorses or opposes specific proposals; we respect and uphold the decisions and sentiments of our community.
Thank you for your continued trust and engagement.

Proposal to Update token aUSD in Moonbeam Network
Good Morning Moonbeam Community! ☀️
We have a straightforward proposal from Yuzhu of the Acala team on Moonbeam. We had this vote happen on the Moonriver Network, this one is now for Moonbeam!
Here’s the simplified summary:
Proposal Summary:
- Objective: We want to update the name of a token we use in our network.

Fixing Inclusion Issues On Parachains Side

The issue on Kusama was resolved at today ~17:29 UTC and Moonriver is now producing blocks 🎉
The Kusama community passed an update through governance that unfroze block production and allowed all parachains to resume operation. Thanks to Kusama’s governance model, this fix was executed immediately and automatically following its passage via OpenGov.
For the Moonriver community, aside from the gap in block production, the issue is resolved and there is no ongoing impact.
