💬 New discussion for revisions to the grants program has been posted to the community forum!

Changes include extension to the current Interim Grants Program, additional budget + community voted allocation, a proposed process for applying for & receiving grants, & more.

The current program expires March 12, 6 mos. after its enactment. If passed via governance, the revised program would maintain the same goal; to further the adoption, utilization, & development of Moonbeam as a premier destination for cross-chain connected smart contracts & apps.

🤩 The first referendum to be proposed through OpenGov on Moonriver is up to vote! If passed, referendum 0 will make key info more accessible to community members when voting on XCM/HRMP channel openings & when using the Moonbeam Dapp.

Because of OpenGov’s parameters, the proposal is currently in its deciding phase. Only after it reaches approval & support requirements will it enter its confirmation period before it can be approved ✔︎

🚀 After ample feedback from the Moonbeam community, the on-chain referendum for revisions to the Moonbeam Grants Program is now up for vote!

Referendum 87 proposes an exciting new way for the community to determine how grants are allocated. If passed, there will be a snapshot vote March 20-25 where token holders can use weighted voting to help decide how the first tranche of the Ecosystem Grants (formerly known as “Level 3 Grants”) are distributed.

📲 PROJECTS must submit a proposal by March 13 to be eligible for a grant.

More proposed changes include:

✔︎ New grant budget & tranched allocation/timeline
✔︎ Combine Level 1 & Level 2 Grants, now called “Community Committee Grants”
✔︎ Level 3 grants now called “Ecosystem Grants”
✔︎ Revised approval process for Ecosystem Grants
