Election Details:

🗣️ Runtime Update: RT2800 is now live on Moonbeam alpha!

RT2800 is the second of three phases before asynchronous backing can be enabled on Moonbeam mainnet.

With async backing enabled Moonbeam block times will speed up from 12s to 6s. This update will also inherent increase transaction throughput 2x in the process 🤯

At approximately 10:27 am UTC today, a Polkadot runtime upgrade was enacted, which triggered all parachains, including Moonbeam, to stop producing blocks for approximately 1 hour.

Moonbeam resumed block production at approximately 11:36 am UTC. At this time, the network is operating normally. We are waiting on incident details from the Polkadot core dev team and will share more information at a later time.

🚨 Time is Running Out! Only 3 Days Left to Vote! 🚨

We're excited to announce a major proposal under RT2900/RT2901 that is set to significantly enhance the performance and capabilities of our network. This update includes pivotal changes such as:

Governance Adjustments: We're moving forward with disabling Gov V1, introducing the FastGeneralAdmin governance track for quicker XCM channel openings, and implementing improvements to XCM fee payments.

SDK Upgrades and XCM Enhancements: The upgrade to Polkadot SDK 1.7.2 promises smoother integration and improved features across various pallets. Furthermore, we've added a crucial safety measure to pause XCM message processing during halted block production, protecting our network from potential spam attacks.
