We deem it important to address the recent concerns regarding the Tranche 2 grant voting process. You may notice that the snapshot voting is currently closed a lot earlier than anticipated. The Moonbeam community thrives on active participation, vigilance, and mutual trust, which are foundational to our collective success.


We acknowledge that an irregularity has been identified in the Snapshot voting process for the Ecosystem Grants. Rather than considering voting power at the block where the snapshot was created; voting power was being determined at the block where a user voted. The bug was brought to our attention by our vigilant community members.

Upon discovery, our team promptly reported the issue to Snapshot.org. The bug was confirmed, subsequently rectified via a hotfix, and the results have been retallied. We can reassure our community members that these swift actions were executed to maintain the integrity of the voting process.

In relation to concerns voiced regarding the validity of the vote due to the identified bug, we fully appreciate their vigilance and commitment to the transparency and fairness of our ecosystem. It is important to underscore that the decision to invalidate a vote and commence a re-run is a grave one, meriting careful deliberation. We will announce the date when we will relaunch the snapshot vote soon, please stay tuned.

Moving forward, we remain committed to continually enhancing the transparency and integrity of our procedures. We are taking the lessons from this incident in stride. We pledge to keep the community in the loop and invite everyone to partake in these vital discussions.

This is an important update to share related to the Snapshot vote for Tranche 2 of the ecosystem grants.

If you haven't already read our forum post from yesterday, please check it out here -

To summarize, technical issues were encountered with the Snapshot vote. Those issues have been resolved now, and the relaunch of the Snapshot vote is scheduled for tomorrow - July 21, 2023 at 15:00 UTC.

Given the timing of the vote relaunch is just before the weekend, the vote duration has been extended to 7 days. This adjustment will ensure everyone gets a chance to cast their vote. The vote will therefore close on July 28, 2023 at 15:00 UTC.

Rest assured, all the same participants and rules for the snapshot vote will apply as before.

We want to take a moment to thank each one of you for your vigilance in helping us spot the issue, and for your patience as we worked through the technical challenges. Your active participation and understanding continue to drive our community forward!

Hello Moonbeam Community!

We’re excited to share that the Snapshot vote for our Ecosystem Grants Program, Tranche 2, is now live! The vote begins at 15:00 UTC on July 21, 2023 and will run until 15:00 UTC on July 28, 2023.

Here’s a quick rundown of the rules:
🔹Teams must secure at least 250K USD/1,032,204 GLMR (250K at a 0.2422$ 7-day TWAP) of the vote to qualify. This represents 22.93% of the vote.
🔹Teams securing less than the required amount will not be eligible, and their funds will be redirected to the grant committee.
🔹If more than 1.75M GLMR is left over, the vote will be considered “hung” and deemed invalid.
🔹No team can receive more than 2,000,000 GLMR, amounting to 44.44% of the total vote.
🔹Any surplus over 2M GLMR will be redistributed among the remaining eligible teams, i.e., those who have received 22.93% or more of the vote.

Remember, GLMR holders can cast votes with both free and staked GLMR. The amount you can vote with is what you had in your wallet at the time the snapshot vote was created.

We highly encourage everyone to read the various proposals and participate in this important process. Your vote truly matters in shaping our ecosystem!
