πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡² A warm welcome to the 100-person EU Monitoring Mission along the Armenian border with Azerbaijan. Deeply thankful to the EU and Member States for the manifestation of strong solidarity with Armenia. The Monitoring Mission's deployment is to play a role in de-escalation and the establishment of stability and ultimately bringing peace to the region. [RA President Vahagn Khachaturian]
πŸ‡·πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦πŸ‡² Moscow views the EU civilian mission in Armenia as an attempt to push Russia out of the region. By emphasizing the exclusively civilian nature of the new mission, the representatives of the European Union are dishonest. It unfolds in the context of the EU's common security and defense policy. Therefore, it should be treated accordingly.

πŸ“Œ Unfortunately, this is not the first time that we record the desire of the EU and the entire West to strengthen our ally Armenia by any means. In those experiments, we see only a geopolitical context. Baku's publicly expressed negative assessments of this initiative are ignored. πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί The High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the EU Commission Josep Borell commented on the RA Civil Mission sent to Armenia.
"We launched the EU Mission in Armenia - EUMA, which is now operational and conducted its first patrol today. EUMA will contribute to human security, build confidence on the ground, and support EU efforts in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan," he wrote on Twitter.

❌ The statement of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan that allegedly the units of the RA Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of the Azerbaijani positions located in the northeastern and western direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border zone on the night of February 21 and 22, does not correspond to reality. [RA Ministry of Defense]
❗️ On February 21, the units of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire in the northern and eastern directions of the contact line, using small arms. There are no casualties on the Armenian side.

πŸ“Œ At the same time, the message of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, that allegedly, between 20:45 on February 21 and 01:20 on February 22, the Defense Forces opened fire in the direction of the Azerbaijani positions located in the occupied territories of Shushi, Martuni and Karvachar regions, is another disinformation. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡²πŸ‡±πŸ‡Ί "We cannot sell our soul to have gas or oil. We have to be careful so that if we don't have other options, we don't suddenly find ourselves in another dependency in other parts of the world, where human rights are not a priority." The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg said this at the press conference with Mirzoyan, answering the question about EU-Azerbaijan relations.
❗️Indeed, such an idea has been raised - to put checkpoints on the border of Armenia and in the area where the Lachin Corridor begins. But our answer is unequivocal and quite public, Ararat Mirzoyan said this at a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg.

πŸ—£ "Immediately after the blocking of the Lachin Corridor, this position was announced and it remains the same. The regulations of the Lachin Corridor have been negotiated and signed, including by the President of Azerbaijan, I am talking about the November 9 document. A renegotiation of the Lachin Corridor settlement, with the result of renewed force and the threat of new force, is clearly not acceptable to us and cannot be an acceptable solution.
❗️Memorandum of understanding was signed between the RA Government, "Lydian Armenia" company and the Eurasian Development Bank.

It should be reminded that it’s a memorandum on a 250 million USD package with "Lydian Armenia", which will allow to resume the operation of the Amulsar mine, regarding which there have been commitments for a long time. RA Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan had announced this during the session of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.
