📌 RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Austrian Federal Minister of European and Foreign Affairs Alexander Schallenberg. During the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan presented to his colleague the daily worsening humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan blocking the Lachin Corridor.

Since December 12, 2022, Azerbaijan has closed the Lachin Corridor connecting Artsakh to Armenia, as a result of which 120,000 residents of Artsakh, including 30,000 children, are under siege. 1100 civilians, including 270 minors, can’t return to Artsakh from RA. On January 17, 19 children returned home on the Goris-Stepanakert road accompanied by Russian peacekeeping troops.
Its’s impossible to deliver 400 tons of food and medicine from RA to Artsakh every day. There is a shortage of food and medicine.
13 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units, 9 patients are in the intensive care unit. 5 are in critical condition. 28 Armenians and 4 foreigners in need of emergency medical care were transferred to RA only through the mediation of the Red Cross, and one of the patients died in Artsakh.

📌 Ararat Mirzoyan was invited to participate in the Diplomatic Forum of Antalya this year as well. Mirzoyan mentioned that, most likely, he will participate in the forum.

During the meeting, issues related to security and stability in the South Caucasus were discussed. Minister Mirzoyan presented to the interlocutor the difficult humanitarian situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan.
