در راه اسرائیل هستم. هدف من از این سفر، ابلاغ پیام دوستی ملت ایران، گفتگو با متخصصان آب اسرائیلی درباره چگونگی مواجهه با بحران منابع آب ایران ناشی از سو‌ءاستفاده رژیم جمهوری اسلامی، و ادای احترام به قربانیان هولوکاست هم‌زمان با روز یادبودشان است.

می‌خواهم مردم اسرائیل بدانند که جمهوری اسلامی نماینده مردم ایران نیست. پیوند دیرین میان دو ملت ایران و اسراییل می‌تواند دوباره برقرار شود و به هر دو ملت سود برساند. به اسرائیل می‌روم تا نقشم برای ساختن آن آینده روشن‌تر را ایفا کنم.

I am traveling to Israel to deliver a message of friendship from the Iranian people, engage Israeli water experts on ways to address the regime’s abuse of Iran’s natural resources and pay respects to the victims of the Holocaust on Yom HaShoah.

I want the people of Israel to know that the Islamic Republic does not represent the Iranian people. The ancient bond between our people can be rekindled for the benefit of both nations. I’m going to Israel to play my role in building toward that brighter future.

در حالی که جمهوری اسلامی در ایران دریاچه‌ها، رودخانه‌ها و تالاب‌ها را به بیابان تبدیل می‌کند، در اسرائیل، دولت و صنعت، کویر را به آب تبدیل می‌کنند.

امروز، من از کارخانه آب شیرین‌کن سورِک بازدید کردم تا فناوری چشمگیر آب اسرائیل را از نزدیک ببینم. پس از گفتگو با دانشمندان، کارشناسان آب و مبتکران زیرساخت در اینجا، من مطمئن هستم که یک ایران آزاد و دموکراتیک می‌تواند در همکاری با اسرائیل، آسیب‌های محیط‌زیستی ایجادشده از سوی جمهوری اسلامی را جبران کند و اکوسیستم آبی ایران را نوسازی و بازسازی نماید.

In Iran, the Islamic Republic is turning lakes, rivers and wetlands into deserts, while in Israel, government and industry are converting the desert into water.

Today, I visited the Sorek Desalination Plant to see Israel’s impressive water technology firsthand. After speaking with the scientists, water experts and infrastructure innovators here, I am certain that a free and democratic Iran can engage in partnership with Israel to reverse the environmental damage caused by the Islamic Republic and rejuvenate and rebuild Iran’s water ecosystem.

یاسمین و من از دیدار با نخست‌وزیر بنیامین نتانیاهو و همسرشان بسیار خرسند شدیم. ما در این دیدار از حمایت مستمر اسرائیل از آرمان‌های دموکراتیک مردم ایران قدردانی و تأکید کردیم که ایرانیان به عنوان فرزندان کوروش بزرگ به دنبال حکومتی هستند که به میراث کوروش، یعنی بردباری در قبال ادیان و باورهای مختلف و حمایت از حقوق بشر، احترام بگذارد. به زودی روزی فرا خواهد رسید که دو ملت ایران و اسرائیل از روابط عادی و تبادلات فرهنگی، علمی و اقتصادی غنی و سودمند برای هر دو ملت برخوردار شوند.

Yasmine and I were very pleased to meet with Prime Minister and Sara Netanyahu. We expressed appreciation for Israel’s continued support for the Iranian people’s democratic aspirations and emphasized that, as the children of Cyrus the Great, Iranians aspire to have a government that honors his legacy of tolerance for different faiths and protection of human rights. The day will soon come that the Iranian nation and Israel enjoy normal relations and mutually enriching and beneficial cultural, scientific and economic exchange.
