Matthew 18:32 - 34 NIV
[32] β€œThen the master called the servant in. β€˜You wicked servant,’ he said, β€˜I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. [33] Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ [34] In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

From today’s scripture we learn that even as we want God to forgive us we must also forgive others. How do you expect God to forgive you if you haven’t forgiven others. From today, let’s let go off any grudge we have against others so that God too would be merciful unto us.

Genesis 15:6 NIV
[6] Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

From todays scripture we see that just by believing in the lord, Abraham was deemed righteous. Now when you believe in something, you put whole trust and confidence in that thing. That is what Abraham did, he put his whole and confidence trust in God. Just by believing he was deemed righteous. Now when your trust is in something you tend to follow the precepts of that thing, in this case obedience to God. So, by putting our trust in the Lord and obeying his word we too shall be deemed righteous.

Matthew 6:16 NIV
[16] β€œWhen you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

From this scripture we learn something about fasting. Jesus is telling us that when we are fasting, we shouldn’t make it known to others that we are fasting that we will be praised. In that way we will have no reward for it from heaven. Our fasting should be between God and Us.

Exodus 5:22 - 23 NIV
[22] Moses returned to the Lord and said, β€œWhy, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Is this why you sent me? [23] Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble on this people, and you have not rescued your people at all.”

From this scripture we see Moses lamenting to God because God had promised to free the Israelites from the Egyptians. But after Moses had come to set them free, their plight only worsened. We can learn something from this scripture. That sometimes our circumstances may seem to worsen after we have sought God's intervention. However, we must remember that God's plans are not always immediately evident and that He often works in mysterious ways. So we don't have to lose faith because just as God kept His word to the Israelites in the same way also would He word to us.
