Appreciating Him for what he has done
thanksgiving- the act of giving thanks, showing grateful acknowledgment of benefits or favors to God
for He has been good to us
Now why we should give thanks to God
We first have to understand that we are living under the mercy of God everyday
that we first have to acknowledge what we were before we came in contact with light.
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Β²Β³For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
That we were sinners before and we were going against God, even when He brings us back to love we go back. Even after God saved the Israelites from the wickedness of Egypt they constantly went back to idolism and offering sacrifices to gods of nature.
But God came to a point of compassion for us, that as his children he can’t let us go astray. So by love he brought us to a point of divine revival, divine restoration, divine healing of our hearts.
Jeremiah 31:33 (KJV)
Β³Β³But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
That his grace was strong enough to still love us even though we were very corrupt. Even though we were stubborn
John 3:16 (KJV)

¹⁢For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
so all we can do is to give thanks for his mercies and love towards us.
Can anyone tell me another reason why we should thank God?
so now how do we give thanks to God
Saying thank you is not the only way to thank God but when we follow his commandments, and do according to his will that’s when we show that we are truly grateful to God for all that’s he has done and the little we can do is to go according to his commands.
β€œIf you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.”

John 15:10-11 AMP
That we come to a point of understanding that we as human beings can not give God anything he doesn’t have already. Does he need our money?, our cars?, our houses?,
No but showing respect and obedience to him and his word is the least we can do. That that little gesture or faithfulness to the things of God is the little we can do in order to show appreciation for his love and mercy upon our lives.
Even as children, we are not in any capacity to provide for our children so the least we do for our parents is to respect them and sometimes run errands and do chores.
