🌿 He attains to the supreme, eternal Self, from whose essence the universe of movable and immovable objects is born, in whom it rests, and into whom it dissolves, even as foam and bubbles are born of the transformation of water.
🌿 He attains to the supreme, eternal Self, who is devoid of [concepts of] manifoldness, oneness, many-and-oneness, and otherness; who is devoid of minuteness, length, largeness, and nothingness; who is devoid of knowledge, knowableness, and sameness.
🌿 He attains the supreme, eternal Self whether he has perfect self-control or not, whether he has withdrawn his senses well or not, whether he has gone beyond activity or is active.
🌿 He attains the supreme, eternal Self who is not mind, intelligence, body, senses, or egoism; who is neither the subtle elements nor the five gross elements nor of the nature of space.
🌿 When injunctions cease and the yogi attains to the supreme Self, his mind being void of differentiations, he has neither purity nor impurity; his contemplation is without distinguishing attributes; and even what is usually prohibited is permissible to him.

Question
: Why should I—the Brahman, I—the Cosmic Consciousness, the Existence without another, the Infinite, the All-pervading and the Omniscient, at all project Prakriti? Why must I be bound by the laws of Prakriti and be limited by the phenomena of time, space, causation and substance, and above all, why must I get involved in this process of evolution and involution? Swami Sivananda
: The eye cannot perceive itself. A man cannot stand on his own shoulders. Even so, all enquiry into the Ultimate Cause, the causeless Cause of all creation, is first confronted with a formidable wall of primordial ignorance. He who annihilates his ego to nothing at this point, and who thus obtains the grace of Isvara, gets through this wall and enters the Kingdom of the Infinite. Then he knows. But this knowledge cannot be communicated to others, as this great wall is obstructing others from perceiving the Truth. Therefore the ancient sage termed it an Ati-prasna or transcendental question. Suffice it to know that God has created this world in order to enable you to evolve and realize the Self, in order to serve all and love all as His manifestations. The dacoit of ignorance has kidnapped man from his palace of Self-awareness and brought him to a thick forest; when the man wakes up, he does not brood over how he came there, but tries to get out of the forest. Even so, the earnest Sadhak tries to break the chain of transmigration by attaining Self-realization.

🌿Don’t worry! Restlessness is the nature of the mind, as it is of the eyes and ears. Practise regularly. The Name of God is more powerful than the senses. Always think of the Master [Guru], who is looking after you. Don’t be troubled about your lapses.
🌿Whenever the mind goes after anything other than God, consider that as transient and surrender the mind at the sacred feet of the Lord.
🌿The mind naturally tends towards evil deeds. It is lethargic in doing good works. Formerly I used to get up at 3 AM and sit up for meditation. One day I felt disinclined to do so on account of physical indisposition. That one day’s irregularity resulted in the upsetting of my routine for a number of days. That is why I say that perseverance and tenacity are necessary for success in all good work.
🌿In time the mind itself becomes the Guru. To pray to God and meditate on Him for two minutes with full concentration is better than doing so for long hours without it.

🍃🌸HAPPY JANAMASHTAMI🌸🍃
This is the birthday of Lord Krishna, the 8th Divine Incarnation. It falls on the 8th day of the dark half of the month of Bhadrapada (Aug-Sept). This is one of the greatest of all Hindu festivals. Lord Krishna was born at midnight. A 24-hour fast is observed today.
The Lord appeared when the moon entered the house of Vrishabha at the constellation of the star Rohini, on Wednesday, the 8th day of the second fortnight of the month of Sravana, which corresponds to the month of Bhadrapada Krishnapaksha according to the Barhaspatyamana, in the year of Visvavasu, i.e. 3227 BC.
Study the Bhagavatam and the Pancharatras, which are equal to the Upanishads. You will know all about the glory of Lord Krishna, His Lilas and superhuman deeds. The eighth avatara, Krishna, who has become the Beloved of India and the world at large, had a threefold objective :-
🌿To destroy the wicked demons.
🌿To play the leading role in the great war fought on the battlefield of Kurukshetra [where he delivered His wonderful message of the Gita].
🌿To become the centre of a marvellous development of the Bhakti schools of India.
There is no true science except devotion to Lord Krishna. That man is wealthy indeed who loves Radha and Krishna. There is no sorrow other than lack of devotion to Krishna. He is the foremost of the emancipated who loves Krishna. The Name, virtues and Lilas divine pastimes of Krishna are the chief things to be remembered. The Lotus Feet of Radha and Krishna are the chief objects of meditation.
Devotion is the only means of attaining Lord Krishna. Bhakti kindles love for the Lord. When love is directed towards Krishna, man is freed from the bondage of the world. Though Lord Krishna appeared in a human body, He had a divine body not composed of the five elements. He did not take any birth here in the usual sense of the term. He did not die. He appeared and disappeared through His Yoga Maya as He has declared in the Gita. This is a secret, known only to His devotees, yogis and sages.
Incarnations of God appear for special reasons under special circumstances. Whenever there is much unrighteousness, whenever confusion and disorder set in on account of unrighteousness and baffle the well-ordered progress of mankind, whenever the balance of human society is upset by selfish, ruthless and cruel beings, whenever irreligion and unrighteousness prevail, whenever the foundations of social organisations are undermined, the great Incarnation of God appears in order to re-establish righteousness and to restore peace.
An Incarnation is the descent of God for the ascent of man. The work done by the Incarnation of God and His teachings produce a benign influence on human beings and help them in their upward divine unfoldment and Self-realisation. The Incarnation comes to reveal the divine nature of man and makes him rise above the petty materialistic life of passion and egoism.
Krishna has played various roles during His stay in the world. He was Arjuna’s charioteer. He was an excellent statesman. He was a master musician; he gave lessons even to Narada in the art of playing the veena. The music of His flute thrilled the hearts of the Gopis and everyone else. He was a cowherd in Vrindavan and Gokul. He exhibited miraculous powers even as a child. He killed many demons. He revealed His Cosmic Form to His mother, Yasoda. He performed the Rasa Lila, the secret of which can only be understood by devotees like Narada, Gauranga, Radha and the Gopis. He taught the supreme Truth of Yoga, Bhakti and Vedanta to Arjuna and Uddhava. He had mastered every one of the sixty-four fine arts. Therefore, He is regarded as full manifestation of the God.

Mr. Jharka, a gentleman from the University of Benares, holding the M.A. and the M.Sc. degrees, said that he was stricken with grief due to bereavement of wife and children. He sought peace of mind and asked how to get it.
Maharshi.: It is in the mind that birth and death, pleasure and pain, in short the world and ego exist. If the mind is destroyed all these are destroyed too. Note that it should be annihilated, not just made latent. For the mind is dormant in sleep. It does not know anything. Still, on waking up, you are as you were before. There is no end of grief. But if the mind be destroyed the grief will have no background and will disappear along with the mind.
D.: How to destroy the mind?
M.: Seek the mind. On being sought, it will disappear.
D.: I do not understand.
M.: The mind is only a bundle of thoughts. The thoughts arise because there is the thinker. The thinker is the ego. The ego, if sought, will vanish automatically. The ego and the mind are the same. The ego is the root-thought from which all other thoughts arise.
D.: How to seek the mind?
M.: Dive within. You are now aware that the mind rises up from within. So sink within and seek.
D.: I do not yet understand how it is to be done.
M.: You are practising breath-control. Mechanical breath-control will not lead one to the goal. It is only an aid. While doing it mechanically take care to be alert in mind and remember the ‘I’ thought and seek its source. Then you will find that where breath sinks, there ‘I-thought’ arises. They sink and rise together. The ‘I-thought’ also will sink along with breath. Simultaneously, another luminous and infinite ‘I-I’ will become manifest, which will be continuous and unbroken.
That is the goal. It goes by different names - God, Self, Kundalini Sakti, Consciousness, Yoga, Bhakti, Jnana, etc.
D.: Not clear yet.
M.: When the attempt is made, it will of itself take you to the goal.

To whom could Baba [Baba Lokenath Brahmachari] speak about this unique state of his mind? Who would understand his language of the beyond? At times, though, Baba did make the attempt. “Words are such poor vehicles to express the inner experience. Any attempt to reduce it to words only belittles the Ultimate Truth. It is like a mute trying to express the taste of nectar.”
Talking to his intimate devotees, Baba once said, “When I am talking about that, I am not able to stay in touch with my body. When I think of that, I become that. I am detached from body consciousness. It is impossible to express this, the deepest feeling of ecstatic bliss, in human language."
“Everything that exists in infinite creation exists within me. The whole universe is in me. I am existence beyond space, time, and causation. My existence is without beginning or end. I exist in eternal expansion. These words are not to be shared. That is the reason you see me spending time with householders, granting their mundane demands. Do not think that when I am busy with you in worldly matters that I lose touch with that blissful state. No. Whoever achieves that state can never fall from there. Nothing can ever again be seen in isolation. Everything is seen as an expression of the One. In variety is the taste of Unity."
“Because I eat, drink, attend to the call of nature, and live like any one of you, you think of me as one like you. Your greatest mistake is to think of me as a body. How am I to explain who I am? Everyone is so involved in the fulfillment of small desires, unconscious, so forgetful of their true ‘I’.”
Baba Lokenath’s expression of identification with Ultimate Truth flows like Divine music from the world beyond. It echoes the words of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita, “Ignorant people seeing Me in human form mistake Me for an ordinary human. They fail to realize that I am the Paramatman (God).”
There is also a Vedic text which explains Baba’s state of yoga: “The One Divine Being is hidden in all beings. He is omnipresent, the Indwelling Self of all beings, the witness, the one who imparts consciousness, unconditioned and without qualities.”
Recalling the days in the Himalayas, Baba Lokenath often said, “For more than a half century, my Gurudev took me through the most intense disciplines of yoga. With humble surrender I followed his instructions, traversing the diverse paths of yoga. If I ever had any doubt, he would guide me like the most patient and loving mother through the subtle problem to a higher experience. With deepest faith in him I easily moved along the path toward the goal. I passed through the most difficult stages of yoga practices only by his grace and able guidance. Drowned in the ocean of eternal bliss in the state of samadhi, I did not have any awareness of the time."
“While in samadhi, heaps of snow would cover my body and would melt away. In that sublime state, I had no feeling of the existence of my body. I was in that state of samadhi (Cosmic Consciousness) for a long time. Finally, the effortless state of the Ultimate Truth was revealed. In that state of consciousness, there was no separation between me and any other Cosmic manifestation. The inner and the outer all merged into each other as an expression of ultimate bliss, absolute joy. There is no state beyond this to be achieved in human life through total effort and Divine grace.”

🥀The more you are spiritually awakened, you will find that you are becoming overly sensitive to all other species of life and creations of nature. You will not be able to hurt even small insects. You will see your Beloved in every spark of life. That is the reason I always warn you to be very careful and not to harm or hurt anyone. It all comes back to you.
🥀One day I told him, “Thakur, you are so kind; you love so much.” He replied, “No, I don’t love.” I was kind of taken back. I was young, fresh to the ashram as a renunciate monk. I said, “If you do not love, then what do you do?” With a smile on his face, Thakur taught me the greatest lesson of my life, one that would change the entire course of my thoughts and philosophy of life in later years. He simply said, “Love cannot be done; love happens.”
🥀Always keep in mind women are the very embodiment of the universal Mother. Your wife is an active partner in all your happiness and agonies. Never despise or disrespect your wife. If out of your ill treatment she sheds a drop of a tear, all the peace and prosperity of your family will be torn apart, possibly forever. Women are the embodiment of the goddesses. They play different roles with a strong sense of sacrifice and love as wife, beloved, mother or sister.
🥀An ardent seeker, a disciple of Thakur asked him one day, “What is dharma?” Thakur replied, “Dharma is that transforming practice which helps one to discover his or her own inner, infinite potential of divine energy and to manifest the divine in this human realm. That which is Truth is dharma.”
🥀The Truth is God. The Truth is Dharma, the Path. Be steadfast in your devotion to Truth. He who has single-pointed devotion and love for Truth has all that is needed in the path of divine unfoldment. He who has everything yet compromises the Truth can never advance in the path of Truth or attain true peace of mind.
