To lock your messages, go to “Settings”, “Privacy and Security” and tap on “Passcode Lock”. You will be asked to set a four-digit passcode and confirm it. Once you do that, you will find additional options to “unlock the app with fingerprint” and “auto-lock” it after a specific duration. Speaking of multiples, Telegram allows you to upload additional profile photos. While the latest photo is the profile picture your contacts will see, they can swipe to see the rest of your pictures. Telegram allows users to locate contacts nearby you, should they choose to be discovered. This allows you to quickly add someone close to you on Telegram without going through the hassle of first noting their number and saving the contact manually. Users can also use this feature to find and create groups of nearby users.

While we are going to release more exciting features for Premium subscribers, we will keep implementing free features available for everyone, and do it faster than any other massively popular app. This update is no exception – it adds join requests for public groups, an animated screen for external sharing, improved bot descriptions, and more. Add Animated Stickers to Images/Videos Telegram is a great all-around messenger, especially when you start using its best features and know everything it's capable of. Another useful feature is “send without sound”. It is rather self-explanatory: you can message friends freely when you know they are attending an important meeting, studying, or sleeping. Recipients will get a notification as usual, but their device won’t make sound, even if it is in general mode.

Advanced Chat Options This update is being rolled out gradually. If your app is not offering you to update, please wait – the new version will become available soon. If you're verified on at least two social networks, you can verify your group, channel or bot. The standard emojis on Telegram can be presented in an animated avatar to further enhance their emotional value. These are different from GIFs you send in the app. To enable animated emojis, head over to Settings/Chat Settings/ Large Emojis.
