This is the ONE main criticism I've had of my generation for years.
We are really good at rejecting tradition, for very good reasons. We are not good at understanding why tradition exists in the first place, and that tradition, as a concept, has a very practical function. Ritual is an intensely human thing, and its necessary to our survival.
There aren't many places like churches that exist anymore - a free place for people to build community and engage in community-based artistic activities and charity. There need to be more spaces like that.
