Good idea: do not underestimate plants: they can see

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8903786/

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boquila
It grows vines that wrap around host plants, mimicking the host's leaves in a phenomenon called mimetic polymorphism.[3] It bears an edible fruit (Boquila berries).
A 2021 paper suggested that the plant has some sort of vision using ocelli. This hypothesis was presented on the basis of experiments in which the vine appeared to mimic plastic vines and artificial plants

Good Idea: Do not underestimate plants: they can hear.
So build water pipes in a way, that the water doesn't make a sound when flowing through it.

(Removepaywall.com works)

Plant roots are a big cause of damage to sewer systems all over the world. In Germany, the annual cost of root removal and associated pipe repair is around €28m ($30m).

A reminder that the noblest thing you can do is plant a tree in whose shade you already know you will never sit, as the proverb goes.

There's something so pure about being able to love everything. To connect. We don't just love people. We love animals, we love objects, we love places. We love. It's one of those little things that I think about sometimes, that I love about humanity.
One of the first signs of humanity is not just manipulating objects to make tools. It's funerary rites. It's making art. It's abstract communication. It's naming things that matter to us. It's creating silly little things. It's so much more.
People got buried with things they didn't need but they cared about in life.
These little things - they make us human. And honestly? I think that's wonderful, and it makes life worth living.

This one is interesting because conservatives really cannot differentiate prison from free labor except on the price. OP is absolutely right on slavery and its effects

I don't 100% agree with this in the sense that we can't consume our way to a better world, there is still no ethical consumption, but abstinence from consuming certain products - as a STRATEGIC form of activism - absolutely works.
