it's not some guy, it's the british lord who promised palestine to the zionists.
so it's not a random act of art destruction.

Man, I was so fucking excited to take the subway when I visited New York. It was my first time being in a city that HAD one. Yeah, it was a little sketch, but I have lived in a somewhat sketchy area for the past year and I live in one now. You learn to be a little vigilant, you learn to make peace with the fact that there might be weird and awkward people sitting next to you, and you move on paying exceedingly little for transit and not spending any time in traffic.
It's easy to get baited into fearing high-crime areas, and I will admit that I sometimes get paranoid. But I always remind myself of this - other people manage to live here too. And if they can live here without being murdered or robbed every day, so can I.

I'm dead serious when I say this - I am so much happier living in """""high-crime"""" walkable areas than I ever was living in a fucking suburban sprawl.
The town I just moved to has a poor reputation, mostly because of of the smell from the dairy industry nearby. An older couple I'm friends with was concerned about "gang activity." But its the most rent stable place in my state, meaning I can afford to actually be in a *house,* two minutes away from a bus stop, a ten minute walk away from the grocery store.
I walked to a family dollar the other day. Jank as fuck. Barely organized. Two employees. The kind of place I was implicitly taught to avoid growing up, because it was for "trailer trash" or whatever. But guess what! I bought food there! It wasn't junk food either!
My neighbors don't have manicured lawns, most of them have cheap xeriscaping! Most of them have kids and their lawns are filled with toys. And I *love* this! People live here! People who aren't centering their lives around keeping up with the joneses!
