If you are using Telegram on your PC, Laptop, or another device, your secret chat is only visible to your device that you started it. Does it ever happen that you send a message, and within a few seconds you find out a glaring typo? Well, there is an edit button to save you on Telegram, but not so much on Twitter. All you have to do is select the message and tap on the โEdit (pen)โ icon at the top and you can easily edit the message. However, it will show you an โEditedโ label after you have made the changes. Also, there are no time-bound restrictions for editing messages on Telegram. You can only edit messages up to 48 hours of sending them (forever if the messages are posted in your โSaved Messagesโ chat). If you need to know everything about Telegram, they have a nicely categorized FAQ page so you can refer to it for deep information.
All usernames on Telegram have their own t.me/username links, making it easy to share public profile, group or channel anywhere on the internet. Every username will now have a new unique link format โ username.t.me โ for those who want to emphasize their name (or have trouble finding the / key). One of the nagging issues I have with WhatsApp is its extremely limited text editing features. For example, if someone sends a message, you canโt select a part of text from the message. You will have to copy the whole message and then edit it out in the small text field which frankly is very annoying. However, Telegram has brought a great way to select and copy a part of a message. Tap and hold on a message to select it first and then again tap and hold to select your part of the message. Thatโs ingenious, right? Create Timestamp for Videos Plus, if youโre using the โsecret chatsโ feature, youโre getting the same level of end-to-end encryption. On top of this, users canโt forward or screenshot messages in secret chats, and messages can be programmed to self-destruct. Deleting a message also deletes it for everyone on the service, and users have the option to delete not just their own messages, but other usersโ messages, too. Itโs also worth mentioning that all chats are encrypted, even if not end-to-end encrypted.
If you love Twitter polls, well, now you can get the same feature on Telegram Groups as well. You can create both anonymous and visible polls and also schedule them accordingly. Other than that, there is also a Quiz Mode which allows you to see who voted for what. And the best part is that you can set up quizzes with multiple answers. So, if you run a Telegram group, this is the best way to settle scores with your friends and family. To create polls, simply tap on the โattachmentโ icon and select the โPollsโ menu. And for Quizzes, you can go through Telegramโs guide over here. Telegram has announced a host of new features for its users. The social messaging app is getting features like Status emoji, Infinite reactions, improved login flow and others. Some of these features are available for all users, while some are available for Premium members only. Hereโs a look at all the features that are coming to Telegram Send Scheduled and Silent Messages Premium Unique Stickers
In general, Telegram is as safe or safer than most other chat apps. It could be argued that WhatsAppโs end-to-end encryption on all messaging is a better approach, but the companyโs ties to Facebook/Meta may turn off privacy advocates. The profile videos of premium users will animate for everyone throughout the app โ including in chats and the chat list. Let everyone see your new look, or flex your creativity with a unique looping animation.
