🔸تماثل هذه الترجمة قصيدة شكسبير من حيث تركيبتها الشكلية، فهي تتخذ أسلوب السونيتة الذي يفضله شيكسبير، والذي يتألف من ثلاث رباعيات ودوبيت واحد. كما أنها تتبع نمط التقفية ذاته، أي
ABAB/CDCD/EFEF/GG
🔸استعار المترجم هنا -خلافاً لشيكسبير- الربيع بدلاً من الصيف صورة لحسن الفتى ورقة طبعه. والتفسير الواضح لهذا التغيير يكمن في كون الربيع في بيئة المتلقي العربي وثقافته رمز الجمال والاعتدال، وليس الصيف. كما يتبين مثلاً من قول البحتري:
