-Once bitten twice shy.
-لا يُلدغ المؤمن من جحرٍ مرتين

ملحوظة: shy هنا ليست بمعنى خجول.. وانما بمعنى حَـــذِر

Examples:

I once sent in money for something I saw advertised in the back of a magazine, but the merchandise was of such poor quality I was sorry I'd bought it. I'll never buy anything that way again; once bitten, twice shy.

Send in = يرسل
فعل مركب(phrasal verb ) المقصود هنا الشراء عن طريق تحويل المبلغ

advertise = فعل يروج او يعلن عن شيء

merchandise = اسم سلعة/بضاعه
الكلمة رسمية والمرادف له goods

Poor quality = نوعية رديئة
هي لازم تحفضها كذا لانه تعتبر متلازمة لفظية (collocation)
يعني غلط تقول ❌bad quality❌ لان اهل اللغه ما يستخدمونها وعكسها good quality

🔹✨Social butterfly 👉Someone who is VERY social and easygoing; can be either a male or a female. Usually these people don’t belong to a particular group, but rather jump from one group to another. They are somewhat accepted in all of them, but don’t really have any deep friendship connections in any of them.

✨ الفرق بين الثلاثة كلمات :

الثلاثه معناهم  الم ، لكن في فرق بينهم في الاستخدام

An ache is discomfort that continues for some time. It is usually associated with a specific part of the body, such as a headache, a stomachache, a toothache, and an earache

كلمة  ache     -  فعل / اسم  -  معناها الم  أو شعور بعدم الراحه والإنزعاج  يستمر لبعض الوقت ويرتبط عادةً بجزء معين من الجسم ، مثل الصداع ، وآلام المعدة ، وجع الأسنان ، وجع الأذن   :    ألم تدريجي غير مفاجئ ويمكن تحمله بعض الشئ

أشعر بالصداع / ألم في الرأس

My calf muscles ache from the continuous training - فعل

عضلات ساقي تؤلمني بسبب التمرين المستمر

Pain is usually stronger, more sudden, and more difficult to ignore. You would feel pain when you cut yourself or hit your head on something

كلمةpain     - فعل / اسم - معناها الم و عادة ما يكون درجة أو شدة الألم أقوى ويكون بصورة مفاجئة  وأكثر صعوبة في تجاهله ، فأنت حتماً  ستشعر بالألم عندما تجرح نفسك أو يصطدم رأسك بشيء ما :    ألم مفاجئ غير تدريجي ولا يمكن تحمله بسهولة أو تجاهله

Hurt is a little different because it is usually used as an adjective or verb, not a noun

She had severe pain in her ears, she couldn't sleep

كان لديها ألم شديد في أذنيها و لم تستطع أن تنام

It pains me when I see homeless kids

أشعر بالام عندما أجد أطفال بلا مأوى

أما بالنسبة لكلمة hurt      فالوضع مختلف بعض الشئ  لأنها تستخدم كصفة أو فعل وليس اسم.

My leg hurts.           ساقي تؤلمني

I hurt my leg.    أنا جرحت ساقي 

He was badly hurt in the car accident

كان مصاباً إصابة بالغة في حادث سيارة

All three of these words can be used to refer to emotional pain as well as physical pain

انتبه : يمكن استخدام  الكلمات الثلاث  ache  & pain & hurt    للإشارة إلى الألم العاطفي / الوجداني وكذلك الألم البدني وده هيتضح من خلال الأمثله دي :

My husband is in prison; the situation is causing me a lot of heartache

زوجي في السجن وهذا الوضع يسبب لي الكثير من الحزن / الآسى / وجع القلب

It took her years to move past the pain of her divorce

لقد استغرق الأمر سنوات حتى تتجاوز مرارة/ الم / آسى / حزن طلاقها

I was extremely hurt that he didn’t invite me to his wedding

شعرت بأذى شديد لأنه لم يدعني لحفل زفافه
