❌Stop using the idiom “see eye to eye” in the affirmative, ✅it’s really only used in negatives.
Also, we never say “I see eye to eye you with”, it’s always “We …” , “They …” , “My father and I …”
Got it?🤌
• John and his brother don't see eye to eye on politics.
• Mary and her sister rarely see eye to eye on fashion.
• The political leaders don't see eye to eye on immigraiton.
• Jane and her husband sometimes don't see eye to eye on parenting.
• The committee members didn't see eye to eye.
• The scientists didn't see eye to eye on results.
• The candidates didn't see eye to eye on the economy.
• Mark and Sarah don't always see eye to eye on music.

❇️To recap, For + Gerund tends to emphasize the general process, preparation or outcome of a task. It's about the bigger picture or a longer-term goal. The action in the gerund form becomes a bit more "noun-like," representing an activity or a process rather than a specific action. Does that make sense?
📌Meanwhile, To + Infinitive often focuses on a specific, immediate action or goal. It's more about what you need to do right now or in a particular situation to achieve something, as opposed to the overall outcome or process.
😿To be honest, this is hard for teachers and students to grasp so you’re not alone if you find this challenging to understand or even to teach.

👂I often hear students saying
"I looked for the meaning online." which isn't quite right. Here's why.
✍LOOK FOR vs LOOK UP vs LOOK INTO
👀When you "look for" something, you are actively searching for a specific object, item, or information that you need or want to find.
• I need to look for my keys; I can't find them anywhere.
• Can you help me look for my book? I misplaced it.
• She's looking for a new job because she's unhappy with her current one.
🕵When you "look up" something, you are using resources like books, websites (google mostly), dictionaries, or other references to find specific information or details about a particular topic or question.
• I need to look up the definition of this word in the dictionary.
• If you're planning a trip, you should look up information about the best places to visit.
• Can you look up the recipe for chocolate chip cookies online?
🕵♂When you "look into" something, you are investigating or examining a situation, problem, or matter in more detail. This phrase implies a deeper level of research or analysis.
• Bear with me while I look into it for you.
• The detective promised to look into the mysterious disappearance of the valuable painting.
• We should look into the option of expanding our business to other countries.
❇️ So, just to recap, "look for" involves a mostly physical search, "look up" involves research or information gathering, and "look into" involves a deeper investigation.
Is that crystal clear?

The older I get / The more I think
You only get a minute, better live while you're in it
'Cause it's gone in a blink
And the older I get /The truer it is
It's the people you love, not the money and stuff That makes you rich
And if they found a fountain of youth I wouldn't drink a drop and that's the truth
Funny how it feels I'm just getting to my best years yet
The older I get / The fewer friends I have
But you don't need a lot when the ones that you got / Have always got your back
And the older I get / The better I am
At knowing when to give And when to just not give a damn
And if they found a fountain of youth I wouldn't drink a drop and that's the truth
Funny how it feels I'm just getting to my best years yet
The older I get / And I don't mind all the lines From all the times I've laughed and cried
Souvenirs and little signs of the life I've lived
The older I get / The longer I pray I don't know why, I guess that I've Got more to say
And the older I get The more thankful I feel For the life I've had and all the life I'm living still

🔘 Chasing Clout
◻️Doing things just to become popular
Chasing clout is when someone does and says things for the sole purpose of becoming more popular. It is most often used to describe people on social sites that are shallow and desperate to gain followers and become famous.
The phrase became popular in 2016 as a way to criticize "fake" people that pretend to be something in order to get more attention. It comes from the hip-hop music scene, along with the "Clout chase" term and has become particularly popular on social sites, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
On social media, people may chase clout by posting comments and sharing photos that promote their fake lifestyle. Or they may pretend to be someone else to become friends with a famous person that has more "clout" that they can leech from. People that take part in this type of clout chasing are called "Clout leeches."
People on social media that take advantage of social movements may be called "Performative activists." This term became popular in 2020.
There has been some criticism of the "chasing clout" phrase since people have begun calling anyone who wants to be successful a "clout chaser." The difference between people that just want to be successful and clout chasers is that clout chasers are willing to forfeit their identity just to get fame.
❓Example
Man, Andy's out here chasing clout big time.
Yeah, he's so fake.

“The really important kind of freedom involves attention and awareness and discipline, and being able truly to care about other people and to sacrifice for them over and over in myriad petty, unsexy ways every day. That is real freedom. That is being educated, and understanding how to think. The alternative is unconsciousness, the default setting, the rat race, the constant gnawing sense of having had, and lost, some infinite thing.”
