On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, it's worth reflecting on the origins of the Dehancer project. It all began on October 13, 2014, at 00:45, with an action for Photoshop. Over 200,000 downloads in the first two weeks indicated great interest, prompting the development of a larger project - Dehancer.

Unlike existing photo processing software that focused on enhancing images, this project centered on the aesthetic appeal of analog-inspired visuals. The emphasis was on colour variation, grain, and the imperfections characteristic of film photography, opposing the trend of overly sharp and saturated digital imagery. The belief was that a beautiful image often requires a level of degradation to achieve a more pleasing and artistic look.

The initial six years were dedicated to research in an analog photo lab, resulting in unique solutions that refined our original concept. Today, this philosophy remains at the core of Dehancer.

Over the past decade, we have evolved into a compact yet thriving company with a team of 35 people across different countries. Not all, but most of the employees are captured here in the carousel!

For the past two years, the team has gathered in person in Armenia to celebrate and maintain the spirit of collaboration and shared vision.
